Craig Conover Calls Finally Passing the Bar a "Huge, Huge, Huge Relief"

You can now call upon Craig Conover to help you out of any legal jams you might find yourself in. The Southern Charm pal found out last week that he officially passed the bar. And it was quite the reveal. You see, one of his law school buddies stopped by the day they posted the results online, and the now-lawyer was feeling a tad bit tense in the moments before his friend told him the good news.

Craig's friend waited out in his car before delivering the results to Craig. "I heard Naomie talking to him at the door. I came walking out and I was like, 'Did I really pass?' And they were both smiling really big and were like, 'Yeah, you passed.' And I was like, 'Thank God.' He brought over a bottle of Champagne and it was just a big relief."

However, Naomie had inadvertently pulled a fast one on her boyfriend just two days prior. "Naomie called me in from the garden. I got in and she's like, 'Did you look at your phone?' And I'm like, 'No, why? What's up?' And I'm like, 'Is it bad news?' And she's like, 'No, it's the best news ever.' So I tried to keep my head calm but I'm like, 'She must have like an inside source [about the bar results] and found out. I'm convinced she's going to tell me I passed the bar. And she's like, 'Cameran's pregnant.'"

While Craig was "stoked for Cameran" it wasn't exactly the news he was anticipating. "That kind of really messed up my whole having myself under control," he said.

The path to becoming a lawyer has been years in the making. Craig walked in his graduation ceremony from Charleston School of Law in May 2014. He began writing his thesis last March, turned it in August, and learned he had officially completed his graduation requirements in December, receiving his Juris Doctor degree. "I'm just glad it's over. I've had to deal with this stuff for like two-and-a-half years now, and it was kind of taken out of my hand and everyone else ran with it," he said. "So I'm just I'm so happy for it to be finally be over ... It's a huge, huge, huge relief. Obviously I'm excited for my future, but also just for everyone to shut up and leave me alone and let me live my life is something pretty awesome to look forward to."

Next, Craig has plans to launch his clothing line (which he mentioned on this week's Southern Charm, clip above) next week and is looking forward to the next chapter in his law career. "It'll most likely be me starting a firm with one or two of my closest friends from school who have their own specialties," he said. "That'll be down the road a little bit, you know it'll take a few months. At least I get to enjoy it."
