Ciara's Engagement Ring from Russell Wilson Is Basically an Iceberg
The pop star said yes... and we don't blame her.
Move over, Mariah Carey — Ciara is coming for your place in the engagement ring hall of fame. The singer just said "yes" to Russell Wilson's marriage proposal, and we really can't blame her. Besides the fact that they are very much in love (or, why else would he pop the question?), we have to wonder how you turn down someone who proposed to you with a diamond the same size of the iceberg that took down the Titanic. The couple shared the happy news on Instagram where Ciara showed off the stunning gemstone.
No word on the exact carats of the bling (is HUGE an official carat size?), but People managed to get some details about the proposal. The Seattle Seahawks QB took Ciara on a romantic vacation to the Seychelles and that's when all the magic happened. "Following Paris Fashion Week, Russell surprised Ciara with a surprise holiday," her rep told the site. "She was shocked when they landed in the Seychelles at the exclusive resort North Island... The biggest surprise was that Russell proposed to his new fiancé at the romantic private 'Honeymoon Beach' located on North Island." And, yes, Ciara is very excited to become the future Mrs. Wilson. She added on Twitter, "God Is Good! Grateful For You @DangRussWilson. You Are Heaven Sent. I'm Looking Forward To Spending Forever With You."
They do say diamonds (and, presumably, true love) last forever, so it looks like you might be good, Ciara.
This is the second marriage for Russell, who married Ashton Meem in 2012 and divorced in 2014. Ciara was previously engaged to rapper, Future, with whom she has son Future Zahir Wilburn, but they broke up in 2014. Russell and Ciara first went public in 2015 at the Obamas' Japanese state dinner. And ever since, they have been very public about their decision to remain abstinent. "We get to have really healthy conversations and focus on each other as people," Ciara told Cosmopolitan last month. "That is very important to me and him. We're just enjoying ourselves and going one day at a time and praying and staying positive."
