Carl Radke’s Birthday Tribute to Captain Lee Rosbach Will Warm Your Heart
When the captain turned 73, Carl shared a heartfelt post about his “friend” and “support system” (grab the tissues).
Carl Radke and Captain Lee Rosbach’s friendship is the gift that keeps on giving.
The Summer House cast member and the longtime Below Deck captain first connected under unfortunate circumstances: Lee reached out to Carl after his older brother, Curtis Radke, died of a drug overdose in 2020 (Lee’s son, Josh Rosbach, also died following a battle with addiction in 2019) — and they’ve since developed a beautiful bond.
The two have kept in touch over the years, as Carl confirmed during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in February 2022. After lots of FaceTimes and calls, the pair finally met face-to-face for the first time at BravoCon 2022. Now, the Loverboy sales VP is wishing the Stud of the Sea a happy birthday on Instagram.
“I am forever grateful for the time you reached out to me at such a pivotal moment in my sobriety and grief process,” Carl wrote when he commemorated Lee’s 73rd birthday on November 15. “As you know, losing a loved one is really hard but having you as a support system these last two years has been a huge blessing.”
Lindsay Hubbard’s fiancé added that he was “thankful” to get “a long overdue hug” with the captain at BravoCon.
“Thank you for your kindness, warmth, strength and guidance. I’m so fortunate to have you as a friend,” Carl wrote, before hinting that the pair would soon get together in Lee’s home state of Florida.
Captain Lee replied to Carl’s sweet message in the comments section.
“Carl, you, my friend, have done all the heavy lifting. It has been an honor to call you my friend and a privilege to be able to help where and whenever I can,” the Below Deck cast member wrote. “Believe me when I tell you I get back much more than I give. Thank you sir.”
The Summer House cast member may have done the “heavy lifting” thus far, but Captain Lee would be prepared to take on a major role at Carl’s upcoming wedding.
During a WWHL appearance, Captain Lee said he would be “honored” to officiate Carl and Lindsay’s wedding ceremony. Find out what else he had to say about his friendship with Carl by watching the video above!
Watch the Below Deck premiere on Bravo on Monday, November 21, at 8/7c and the next day on Peacock and the Bravo app.
