As a quick refresher, Dani is 19 years younger than her boyfriend. With that in mind, some have criticized the couple’s connection due to their age gap; however, Captain Glenn is finally setting the record straight on the situation.
What started as a sweet birthday tribute on social media for Dani’s 43rd birthday quickly turned to be a powerful message to the naysayers. “Some here have commented that Danelis looks like my daughter or I’m old enough to be her dad,” Captain Glenn wrote in his November 21 Instagram post.
He went on to list a few reasons why his and Dani’s relationship shouldn’t be defined by their level of maturity but by their bond.
“I knew this apparent age difference would be an issue for some, but my feeling is when you find someone who you click with that is perfect in every other way, when it comes to love and happiness, I can think of no other best time to throw caution to the wind,” Captain Glenn shared about his partner. “Like I always say, life is short and you only die once and when you do, you stay that way for a very long time.”
The Below Deck Sailing Yacht captain concluded his post with one final thought, writing, “To all of you who have maybe had that thought and chose to keep it to yourselves, thank you.”
