Brittany Cartwright Speaks Out on Recent Reunion with Jax: "Let Me Explain..."
The Valley's Brittany Cartwright also revealed where the exes stand in their co-parenting relationship today.
Brittany Cartwright is clarifying why she was recently featured on her estranged husband Jax Taylor's Instagram Stories.
The Valley cast member shared an update on her co-parenting relationship with her ex on the October 18 episode of her and Jax's podcast, When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany.
Brittany didn't directly see that Jax had shared photos of her from their recent trip to a pumpkin patch with son Cruz Michael Cauchi, but she said that people were reaching out to her about it.
"Let me explain what this was. This was my son's first all-school field trip. So the entire school was there," Brittany said. "Scheana [Shay] was there with Summer [Moon Honey Davies], everybody from his class was there — not even just everybody from his class, everybody from his school was there. The entire school was invited."
"So, if you saw [my Instagram], I just posted Cruz and a picture of me him together because it was so cute. He had the best time ever, and it was a great day, but Jax just posted me," the Kentucky native continued. "I think he just wants everyone to think that everything is just OK. But, we are trying to co-parent, so at situations like that, where we both are going to have to be at — like, he begged me to go to the field trip. I'm like, 'OK, fine, like of course if this is for Cruz, I'm all for that."
She added that "the goal of all of this" is for her and Jax to be able to successfully co-parent their son.
"I just want people to realize [that] I see that, I know that, but that's not always the story. It was his field trip. I just feel like it sucks that I even have to defend that, because I don't want people to think that I'm not being genuine. I've been through a lot," Brittany continued, adding that she doesn't want to give off the impression that "everything's fine."
"It's like, no. I didn't even know that he posted me. I found out this stuff later on... Again, we are gonna co-parent for Cruz. That's both of our top thing. But I never want anybody to think I'm being fake or that I'm lying about something..." she added. "That is not what was happening here. I was literally playing with my son at the pumpkin patch that his whole school was at."
As for where the estranged spouses stand today, Brittany shared, "Hopefully one day we can be friends. It's just not right now."
Brittany announced her separation from the Vanderpump Rules alum in late February 2024, and she officially filed for divorce in August.

As Brittany was referencing, she went on a pumpkin patch field trip with Jax, Cruz, and the rest of Cruz's school on October 15.
The outing took place at the Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark, California.
Jax shared a video of Brittany and Cruz enjoying a train ride during the field trip on his Instagram Stories. Brittany, meanwhile, posted a solo shot of her only child enjoying the day.
"Loves the pumpkin patch," she captioned her picture of Cruz.
The pumpkin patch day may not have been an intimate family outing for Jax and Brittany, but it proved to be a day of fun for Cruz.
