Britani Doubles Down on Meredith Drama After Off-Camera Conversation: “Need To Clear the Air”
Britani Bateman isn't backing down after her conflict with Meredith Marks over a potential illness on the RHOSLC cast trip.
Things were going so well for Meredith Marks and Britani Bateman. And then ... they had to share a wall on vacation.
In the above episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City After Show, which premiered after Season 5, Episode 14 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Britani decided to double down on her current drama with Meredith.
In case you missed it, during the episode, Britani revealed she had woken up in the night to the sounds of the jewelry designer "crying and throwing up" while they were on vacation in Puerto Vallarta. Meredith denied the latter, and took issue with Britani telling the rest of the group that she had vomited.
Still, Britani stands by her story. "This is something I really need to clear the air about because I heard what sounded like throw up sounds coming through the wall," Britani explained during the After Show. "And this is the truth, this is God's honest truth, it didn't last very long — probably like a couple minutes — but it woke me up out of a dead sleep. I was like, 'Whoa,' and then I had the thought, 'Oh my gosh, Is Meredith OK? What's going on over there?' It was absolute throwing up sounds."

Meredith herself chimed in to say that Britani came up to her the morning after the incident and they actually discussed what had happened. Britani also confirmed the off-camera conversation, explaining, "I talked to Meredith in private saying, 'Hey, I heard you throwing up last night. Are you OK?' I was thinking in my head, 'Did you get food poisoning from the dinner?'"
Meredith said in the video above that during their chat, "I clarified that I was crying, not vomiting, and she still ran with it ... I answered her on the spot in the morning. I was like, 'No, I did not throw up.' And then she went on and brought it up in front of the group as if I was throwing up after I said I wasn't."
Although Britani was coming from a place of concern, looking back at the situation now, she realizes that talking to Meredith about it during the group dinner may not have been the best move. "It didn't land, and I read the room," she said. "I'm not tone deaf. I can see. I have good social skills."

Despite Britani doubling down, Heather Gay has her doubts.
"I've partied with Meredith around the nation — not around the world, but around the nation — and I've never seen you throw up," she said in the video above. "It's not her thing, you know? I like to puke and rally, puke and rally. That's kind of my mantra, but not the other ladies."
