Captain Lee Rosbach Reflects on a Wild Season 10
Plus, hear what the captain had to say about the Season 10 crew.
The final charter of Below Deck Season 10 had Captain Lee Rosbach reflecting on his lega-sea during Monday, March 20’s season finale. He also shared his thoughts on chief stew Fraser Olender and the rest of the Season 10 crew. Read on to hear everything Captain Lee had to say.
The Final Docking
Captain Lee described the last docking of the season as “a bittersweet moment,” but also one that’s extremely important to do correctly. “It’s your last docking — sure as hell don’t wanna f--k that up. You want to look good. You want your crew to look good,” he said. “Then you do it, and [when] you’ve done it successfully, I get a rush from it.”
The Crew
Not all Below Deck crews are created equal, but when it comes to the Season 10 group — which included Fraser, Rachel Hargrove, Ross McHarg, Hayley De Sola Pinto, Alissa Humber, Camille Lamb, Luis Antonio “Tony” Duarte, Katie Glaser, Ben Willoughby, and later additions Leigh-Ann Smith and Tyler Walker — Captain Lee was left thoroughly impressed. “I really hate to say goodbye to any of this crew,” he said. “I would stack them up against anyone.”
Captain Lee went on to reveal that he was particularly impressed with Fraser’s performance. As he put it, “I know he had to dig deep a couple of times. I know he had big shoes to fill. I think he did so admirably. He stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park.”
His Career
With another charter in the books, Captain Lee started to reflect on all of his past adventures — but not without inserting his infamous sense of humor. “Going on 40 years I’ve been a yacht captain — have I seen a lot of crazy s--t? Is a 40-pound robin fat?” he asked with a laugh. “Have I been in situations that I didn’t think I was gonna make it through? Oh yeah.”
Take this season, which Captain Lee temporarily departed due to his health issues, for example. “I made a promise that I would come back, and that’s a promise I delivered," he said. “I want people to look at the job that I’ve done and go, ‘He set the bar high and he kept it high.’”
However, “Deciding to become a yacht captain has been the best decision I’ve ever made in my life,” he added.
