Ashley Darby Reveals Her Baby Boy's Name and It Should Sound Familiar to Real Housewives of Potomac Fans
So, did the Potomac Housewife end up going with "Mickshley" after all?
Ashley Darby has officially welcomed her first child, a son, with husband Michael Darby, and now we finally know all of the important details about The Real Housewives of Potomac couple's little bundle of joy.
Yes, even before Ashley announced in February that she was expecting her first child with Michael, we were dying to know what she would name her long-awaited future child. You see, the RHOP wellness expert has long referred to her baby as "Mickshley," a combination of her and her husband's first names.
But now the wait is finally over. Ashley revealed that she and Michael have named their son Dean Michael Darby, she confirmed to PEOPLE. “Michael and I are overwhelmed with joy and love,” Ashley told PEOPLE. “Dean is absolutely perfect. We couldn’t be happier.”
Ashley previously told PEOPLE after announcing the happy news of her pregnancy that she and Michael weren't exactly seeing eye-to-eye when it came to their baby's name. “With an Australian man who tends to lean more towards the English side with his name choices, it’s very interesting,” she said. “He wants it to be a Phillip or an Elizabeth or something very regal. It needs a little bit of culture in there!”
Dean was born on Sunday, July 7, weighing in at 8 pounds and 1 ounce. Ashley first shared the wonderful news of her baby boy's arrival in a lovely post on Instagram later that day.
"I never thought this day would come. When I learned I was pregnant, I started thinking about when I'd feel the first kicks. Then, when I was feeling the flutters, I wanted to know when I'd finally start to show. After watching the bump grow, my mind went to birthing day (WILL THIS REALLY HAPPEN?!)," Ashley gushed in the post, which also featured a photo of her sleeping in the hospital while Michael holds their newborn son. "And when the day finally came that this sweet child came into our world, it felt like the sunniest day after a sky filled grey. The most sensational day of our shared life. Mickey and I are savoring every moment with our wonderful son."
