Asa Soltan Rahmati Gave This There Goes the Motherhood Mom Some Fierce Advice
Here's how the #Shahs designer prepped Leah Forester for her #TGTM debut.
There Goes the Motherhood's Leah Forester may be new to Bravo, but luckily she has a good friend that knows a thing or two about this world: Shahs of Sunset's Asa Soltan Rahmati. "I love her. She’s such a great girl. We have so much fun together," Leah told The Daily Dish. "She’s been a little bit of a good sounding board for me in this new time in my life and yeah, she’s a great girl. She is totally 100 percent who she is on the show. I love it."
As fellow Venice, California residents, Leah and Asa have been friends for years, even before Leah gave birth to her now-6-year-old twins. Asa even snapped this adorable photo at Leah's bridal shower.
The two met through a mutual friend, Nepalese artist Romio Shrestha. "He came from Ireland one day and was staying with me or something and goes, 'You have to meet my friend Asa. She lives around the corner,'" Leah explained. "And she came over and we just hit it off, so he kind of was our Cupid."
Asa gave Leah some valuable advice when it comes to appearing on reality TV. "We talked a lot about the fashion stuff, because I think she’s mastered a good look for herself," she said. "We had a good talk about how to work with fashion on [film] and just creating a look that even the silhouette looks good when you’re on TV and to not look like a big balloon."
Leah said she doesn't remember any specific style do's and don'ts from Asa. "I just remember her saying like, 'Don’t worry girl, you’ll make mistakes, then you’ll learn from it.'”
So has Leah, who has worked as a stylist for 20 years, returned the favor and helped Asa out with her new line of kaftans? "No, not really. She’s really got such strong taste, you know?" Leah said. "I think when you create a product that’s based on who you are inside, like a style product or something like that, it’s really something that comes purely from you. I think when you look at her line you can see obviously her heritage, and it’s a reflection of how she herself dresses, and I love her style. Her style, it’s so perfect for her. You know, mine’s quite different, so we have a lot of mutual admiration for each other."
Leah was quite the fashionista even before she met Asa. Check out some of her and the rest of the TGTM cast's most stylish moments through the years, below.
