Here's Why Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula's Valentine's Day Was Their "Best One Yet"
The Summer House couple went all out for their stay-at-home Valentine's Day.
For Valentine's Day 2021, Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula had everything they needed for a perfect celebration: a delicious home-cooked meal, fancy drinks, and quality time with Milton, the dog they are currently fostering.
In an Instagram post, Kyle shared multiple sweet photos of him, Amanda, and Milton, writing, "Valentine’s Day at home - best one yet!"
While Kyle noted in a separate Instagram Story that the couple "broke out [their] engagement flutes" to enjoy some holiday bubbly, Amanda documented the mouthwatering salmon and vegetables made by her love. "Kyle cooks, Kyle plates, Amanda eats," she captioned a photo of the meal. To make the evening even more romantic, the pair had multiple flower arrangements from UrbanStems atop their table.
Amanda was so impressed with the meal that she asked Kyle to detail the process of making it for her Instagram followers, and he happily obliged. "You take panko, you mix it with some olive oil, you put it on top of the salmon," he said, advising to use only "a couple of teaspoons [of olive oil]" because "You don't want it to be soupy. You still want a crisp panko layer."
"Get the panko coated, but not too much, you can easily add too much olive oil and then there's no turning back," he added. "Then season the top as well, put the oven at 400 degrees. I'm still getting used to my oven so it took me a little while. I finish off with a broil so I get a nice little golden top."
While Kyle took the lead on cooking for Valentine's Day, Amanda has been known to go all out for at-home meals as well. For Kyle's birthday in 2020, which occurred while the couple was filming Summer House's fifth season, Amanda orchestrated a restaurant-style birthday dinner at the cast's incredible temporary home. With help from their castmates, the couple's dinner at "Send It Grill" included ricotta toast with fig jam and honey, fish, sautéed spinach, chocolate chip cookies, and, of course, Loverboy. Check out the full meal in the video above!
