Wait, Why Is Craig Conover Wearing Blue Nail Polish?!
The Southern Charm gent has a single, blue nail — and its meaning goes beyond a simple fashion statement.
When Southern Charm returned for Season 6 in 2019, Craig Conover looked dapper in the official cast photo wearing a blue suit. As eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice, he was also sporting nail polish in a matching color on one finger.
Years later, Craig still rocks one blue nail on his left hand. In the video above, which is a preview of Season 9, Episode 3 of Southern Charm, Craig goes to a nail salon and explains, "I do light blue on this finger, and then clear [polish] on my toes."
Why does Craig Conover wear blue nail polish?
Craig is a supporter of The New York Center for Children, which partners with the "Polished Man" campaign to raise awareness and funds for victims of child abuse.
Proud to have Craig as a representative of the campaign, the charity even shared a photo of the Southern Charm cast member in an Instagram post. "Craig Conover is a Polished Man! You can be one too by joining the [Polished Man] campaign," read the caption of the October 2018 Instagram post. "1 in 5 children are subject to physical and/or sexual violence before the age of 18. The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness and funds to end violence against children worldwide."
As of 2023, the Polished Man website notes, "1 in 2 children experience violence each year" and "1 in 3 women have experienced violence."
As for why supporters of the campaign are encouraged to the nail polish, the same website explains, "A single painted nail is a striking statement and powerful conversation starter. More people talking about Polished Man and what it stands for means more funds raised for trauma prevention and recovery."
