How to Wear Glittering Gold Eyeshadow to Elevate a Makeup Look
Maybelline New York makeup artist Vincent Oquendo dishes on how to create a shimmering makeup look inspired by Bravo's Project Runway.
In the December 1 episode of Bravo's Project Runway, faux fur was not the only thing making a debut on the catwalk. Each contestant's fabulously fuzzy fashion styles were paired with stunning makeup looks that complemented the outfits. This week's Viewer’s Verdict, presented by Maybelline, gave fans five jaw-dropping beauty options to choose from, each one adding the perfect amount of glam to the fuzz-filled fashion.
Ultimately, it was Aaron Michael and Bones Jones' beauty look that received the most votes in this week's contest, with their model, Luz, sporting the prettiest gold eyeshadow — courtesy of Maybelline New York Nudes of New York Eyeshadow Palette. The light caramel shadow provided a chic contrast against the model's dark lashes, making her eyes pop. Complete with sculpted brows and pretty pink lipstick, Luz's makeup struck the ideal balance between elegant and subtle.
The golden glam was stunning with Aaron and Bones' intricate fashion creation. Their model wore a beautiful white gown with a fur-lined cape that had an exaggerated collar. The two designers completed Luz's outfit with gold jewelry which enhanced the gold eye makeup even more.
Below, Maybelline New York makeup artist Vincent Oquendo shares the four easy steps you need to follow if you want to recreate this runway-inspired style at home.
Step 1: To achieve Aaron and Bones' model's makeup, apply the shade Dreamer from the Maybelline New York Nudes of New York Eyeshadow Palette all over the lids. Then, add the shades Self-Starter and Voyager into each crease to create definition.
Step 2: Next, use the Maybelline New York Brow Ultra Slim Eyebrow Pencil to feather and sculpt brows.
Step 3: Contour with the Maybelline New York City Bronzer, and use the Maybelline New York FaceStudio Master Strobing Stick at the top of the cheekbones.
Step 4: Finally, apply a coat of the Maybelline New York Made for All Lipstick in Mauve For Me to lips. Get ready to glow!
