This Is How Much Microblading Really Hurts
“It burns, is that normal?”
By now, you’ve probably heard all about the latest eyebrow phenomenon: microblading. After Bella Thorne revealed the procedure on Snapchat, word of the brow treatment spread like wildfire, and people became obsessed with this semi-permanent brow treatment.
I mean, who doesn’t want perfectly groomed brows? However, we’re still wondering if this treatment really is worth the hype. And more importantly, how much does it hurt?
We decided to send our resident Treat Yourself star KK Glick (a.k.a Vanessa on Odd Mom Out), out to put this luxe treatment to the test. As KK states, everyone has eyebrow war stories. “Mine is your token decade and a half of waxing the bejeezus out of mine,” she says. (Girl, same.)
In hopes of solving her “lifelong eyebrow drama,” KK heads to brow guru Dr. Leslie Gerstman in the Upper East Side. In case you aren’t aware of how microblading works, the treatment involves using a tiny blade to make incisions on the brows, which are then filled with ink. It's kind of like a brow tattoo. But before getting to the nitty gritty of it, Dr. Gerstman gives KK a shot of novocaine to numb her brows.
Overall, the treatment takes about one hour to complete, and cost a hefty $1,100. But, the results can last up to a year. Check out KK’s full microblading experience in the video above, to see if this trend is worth your cash—and exactly how much it's going to hurt.
