Rihanna Is Singlehandedly Bringing Back Super Skinny '90s Eyebrows

Are tweezers going to be back in vogue?

The Vanderpump Rules Ladies Share Beauty Advice for Their Teen Selves

If Cara Delevingne was the cover girl who got us into this current bold brow era, maybe Rihanna is the cover girl who is going to inspire us all to pick up tweezers again. The pop singer/beauty mogul just landed on the cover of British Vogue's September issue, and it's no surprise that she looks beyond gorgeous. What is a surprise is her barely-there eyebrows: RiRi's brows are basically penciled on, and the look with her blood red Fenty Beauty lips is very glamorous — and also very '90s. It's basically Gwen Stefani's and Drew Barrymore's super skinny '90s eyebrows, all over again.

Does Rihanna's look, drawn on by makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench, mean that thin brows are coming back in? Eyebrow trends do seem to be a cycle, after all, with the pendulum swinging from barely-groomed to arched and back again. We're not so sure, though: microblading for brows that define the face is still a huge craze, with The Real Housewives of New Jersey'Margaret Josephs and The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Gretchen Rossi both getting the semi-permanent procedure done to skip the eye pencil in the morning.

We'll have to see if in-your-face Instagram-style bold eyebrows are on their way out, but maybe it's best to just embrace your natural look when it comes to brows. As Vanderpump Rules beauty Ariana Madix put it: "Chill out and don't touch your eyebrows." That's what she says in the video above, where all the Vanderpump Rules ladies lament over tweezing, waxing, and shaving their brows back when they were teens. So, proceed with caution if you want to copy Rihanna's Vogue cover brow look.
