Kim Zolciak-Biermann Finally Got an Old Family Recipe — and Then Got Major Shade
The Don't Be Tardy matriarch was met with some sass after she prepared her aunt's famous "finger salad."
Kim Zolciak-Biermann was pretty stoked when she finally scored her aunt Laurie's recipe for "finger salad." However, not everyone in the Don't Be Tardy clan shared her enthusiasm.
In her Instagram Stories from October 29, Kim showed off a platter of curious-looking snacks covered in shredded cheese. "Every Thanksgiving my grandmother would make this — it's called finger salad," she explained.
Then, she panned over to chef Tracey Bloom, who apparently had some doubts about the old family recipe. "Tracey, even though she helped me cut up all the vegetables, said don't tag me in this," Kim shared wryly.
No matter: For those of us who were on board — and who doesn't want to know what a finger salad entails? — Kim continued on in her speech."It's actually really good, you guys!," she said. "It's got cauliflower, broccoli, cheese, with crescent rolls, and then it's got cream cheese, and like, Ranch packet ... I have begged my aunt Laurie for the recipe."
Even though Brielle Biermann shared Tracey's skepticism, she was finally willing to give the holiday snacks a try. Not that she gave them a rave review.
Brielle's verdict? "It's a little sour." Tracey chipped in, "Oh, I wonder why? Maybe it's because [Kim] put too much Ranch dressing in it."
All Ranch ribbing side, we'd totally try Aunt Laurie's recipe. After all, when's the last time you saw a salad that looks like this?
Though we didn't get the finger salad recipe straight from Aunt Laurie herself, we were able to find an approximation on Epicurious. Check it out here, if you dare — and be careful not to overuse the Ranch.
