See the Incredible German Chocolate Cake Kim Received on Her 42nd Birthday
The Don't Be Tardy mom got a homemade sweet treat from her daughter Brielle and chef Tracey Bloom.
The day before her mom's 42nd birthday, Brielle Biermann was hard at work with Tracey Bloom to make Kim Zolciak-Biermann her favorite sweet treat.
On May 18, the Don't Be Tardy daughter posted a photo to her Instagram Stories showing sticks of butter in a bowl and captioned the post: "Making German chocolate cake for my [mom's] birthday tomorrow!"
After Brielle took her followers through the step-by-step process of making the cake, the stunning confection was finally done. "Finished," Brielle wrote. "[Chef Tracey Bloom] with the icing job."
When she finally saw her birthday treat, Kim was ecstatic, to say the least. "German chocolate cake is my favorite cake," she said in an Instagram Story video as she sliced open the dessert to reveal its traditional coconut-pecan frosting filling in addition to the same topping. "It always has been. However, Tracey's German chocolate cake is like no other."
She captioned the video: "Unbelievable."
It's no surprise that Kim was excited by the incredibly detailed dessert. In the past, the family has been known to celebrate big occasions with over-the-top cakes, including the Cinderella and Hulk-themed desserts for twins Kaia and Kane's birthday last year, Ariana's 18th birthday Hannah Montana "dream cake," and Brielle's glow-in-the-dark 22nd birthday cake she enjoyed at Marquee Las Vegas.
While Brielle turned to Tracey for guidance on this particular dessert for her mom's celebration, the doughnut enthusiast often whips up incredible treats in the kitchen on her own, including the cookies made from cake batter she has made on several occasions and festive pumpkin-spice bars. She's also a fan of store-bought sweets, including Nutella sweetened hazelnut cocoa spread and Entenmann's doughnuts.
