This New Wearable Can Save Your Skin From Sunburns
UV Rays, we're coming for you.
This won't come as a newsflash: you should be wearing sunblock 365 days a year. But, we're a nation that likes measurable progress, whether that means watching steps rack up on the Fitbit or seeing how many Pokémon we can catch on a routine stroll. (Er, if you're into that kind of thing.)
So, we were duly intrigued when La Roche Posay started selling patches that measure how much UV exposure your skin is getting.
In a nutshell: apply the patch to your hand, keep your eyes peeled on it, and head indoors or slather on more sunblock when the patch starts changing color. (It's like a Mood Ring! For your skin!) There's also a mobile app for the My UV Patch, and you can use it to scan your wearable every 30 minutes. It all sounds a bit high-tech, but a short video on La Roche Posay's website breaks it down in pretty simple terms:
The patch comes free with any purchase of La Roche Posay's Anthelios products. And, hey, if keeping skin safe from harmful rays becomes the summer's newest craze, we can live with that.
