News Anchors Are Obsessed With This Crazy-Flattering $20 Dress
Who says women don't share fashion secrets?
In addition to re-posting Real Housewives GIFs and catching up with long-lost relatives, it appears that now Facebook has also become the new "It" spot for sharing the best fashion secrets. Recently, we introduced you to that $34 Land's End dress that working moms on Facebook are currently loving. And now a separate group of Facebook news anchors are also sharing about their favorite go-to dress that looks flawless on-camera. And this time it's less than 20 bucks.
As reported by Daily Mail, the dress we speak of is a V-Neck Sweet Scallop Pleated Skater Dress designed by Sidefeel. And you'll never guess where they're getting it from...Amazon!
Here's the lowdown: The dress has a slight a-line shape (one of the few fits that actually flatters ALL body types) paired with scalloped trimmed sleeves, which add a delicate yet stylish touch to the simple dress. It comes in six colors—white, black, blue, red, yellow, and pink—all of which are camera-friendly when a green screen is involved. On Amazon, its price ranges from $19.99-$24. (Sorry Prime members, no free two-day shipping here.) But best of all the dress is availabale in sizes small through XXL and, according to its 400+ reviews, it runs true to size.
Due to the growing popularity of this Facebook-discovered dress, Frances Wang, an anchor at ABC10 in Sacramento, California, decided to tweet out a chart created by ABC10 production assistant Stephen Leonardi, which displays close to 40 newscasters wearing the dress on-air nationwide. Judging by the chart it appears that the yellow and pink shades are the top color contenders. "When I think of a female newscaster, in general the traditional dress is a little below the knee and tight — your typical work dress, though that depends on your market and how conservative it is,” Frances told Yahoo Style.
Frances also posted a picture of the dress on Instagram with her signature hashtag #WangsWorkWear, which she uses to help share her affordable fashion finds with her followers.
While the dress is primarily loved by female newscasters, we think it's a great option for any office setting, weddings or even date night. Affordable and cute, that's a win in our book. You can shop the dress here, but now that the secret's out you need to act quick.
