Super-Moisturizing Body Lotions That DON'T Dry Your Skin Out? Yes, Please!
Say bye, bye, bye to skin as dry as an elephant.
Summer might nearly be here (at least we think we’ve caught it peeking at us around the corner a couple of times), but if you really, truly have dry skin, you’re not in for much relief. Sure, added humidity means skin has one less drying factor to worry about, but if you’re like us, you still have flaky skin year-round. Ahead, a troop of tried-and-true lotions you can count on to keep skin super-soft. (Read: These babies aren't fleeting, they're moisturizing effects last ALL DAY LONG!)
Dove Cream Oil Intensive Body Lotion
When it comes to moisturizing dry skin, there’s really nothing better than a heavy slathering of oil, whether it’s argan, olive oil, or really anything else sitting in your cupboard. The obvious downside: You’re then slathered in oil. This oil/lotion hybrid, however, is super-moisturizing yet makes it possible to sit on the sofa without having to flip over the cushion afterwards to hide the grease stain from your roommate.
St. Ives Naturally Soothing Oatmeal and Shea Butter Fresh Hydration Lotion Spray
The first time I heard about spray-on body lotion, the whole concept seemed, frankly, like just another gimmick with no value beyond novelty. But then I tried it, and in a few mists was covered neck-to-toe in an invisible cloak that locked in moisture. Needless to say, it’s become a pretty regular player in my a.m. routine.
J.R. Watkins Apothecary Lemon Cream Body Lotion
In addition to the delightful fragrance that smells uncannily like lemon meringue pie, this shea-based body cream manages to have a light feel yet moisturize like the heavy hitters.
BUY FROM: Walgreens, SALE $7.99 (Regularly $9.99, 20% Off!)
Restorsea Retexturizing Body Butter
Restorsea’s star ingredient is as effective as it is odd: an enzyme sourced from fish hatcheries in Denmark that salmon release at birth to free themselves from their egg shell. When adapted for human use, the enzyme gently exfoliates skin while fighting photo-aging (aka age spots). Another bonus: This body butter is as moisturizing as they come.
First Aid Beauty Intense Hydration Ultra Repair Cream
The problem with most intensive hydration balms is that, unless you’re comfortable with looking and feeling pretty greased-up, they’re really only ideal for problem areas such as elbows and knees. This one manages to moisturize as well as classic repair balms without being even the tiniest bit oily, so you don’t have to pick and choose where to apply it.
Fresh Seaberry Restorative Body Cream
Infused with all the appropriate skin-soothing omegas (3, 6, 7, and 9, to be exact) this reparative cream is also incredibly hydrating, light, and luxurious.
Yes to Coconut Hydrate & Restore Ultra Light Spray Body Lotion
Yes, it smells like coconuts. Yes, it hydrates as well as you expect coconut oil to. A couple squeezes of this almost entirely natural lotion leaves skin moisturized all day.
BUY FROM: Amazon, SALE $7.27 (Regularly $9.99, 27% Off!)
Jergens Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer
What do I love more than a super-moisturizing lotion? One that pulls double-duty, of course. Apply to damp skin post-shower daily to lock in moisture and within a few days you’ll also have built up color that looks like you took a little mini-break to Capri or somewhere instead of having spent the weekend power-watching your Netflix queue.
Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Cream
This cream has been around forever, and justly so. It’s unscented, it’s very gentle, it’s not laden with chemicals, and just a tiny bit moisturizes day to night.
