Hip Hop Honors: See What All Your Favorite '90s Icons Wore!
Lookin' good, Queen Latifah!
The 2016 VH1 Hip Hop Honors brought some of our favorite '90s icons out in droves. Held last night—for the first time in six years—the event paid homage to the musical genre's female pioneers. Let's take a look at some of the famous faces that had us yearning for the days of chokers and Doc Martens. (Nope, not last week. We mean the OG days.)
1. Salt-n-Peppa
The group that sings "Push It" together, stays together. All three women came out to the "All Hail The Queens" themed event. How fitting. The rappers all wore different styles of sexy black gowns.
2. Missy Elliott
One of the evening's honorees, Missy wore a striking pink-and-black look paired with combat boots. We're loving her blue lipstick, too.
3. Queen Latifah
Every queen needs a cape, and the Queen rocked hers in style.
4. Lil Kim
With flowing copper locks, the rapper wore an black dress over patterned tights and thigh-high boots, with several strings of pearls. Before the big event, the aforementioned queens all participated in a photo shoot with Annie Leibovitz. Stylist Eric Archibald worked with the ladies, styling them in Balmain, Wolford stockings, and custom corsets. Peep the photos here.
