Heidi Klum Outdid Even Herself With This Genius Throwback Halloween Costume
The look was inspired by Michael Jackson's Thriller.
Besides getting a full-size candy bar in your trick-or-treat bag, the most exciting thing about Halloween — hands-down — is seeing what Heidi Klum wears. The model manages to surpass her own, over-the-top costumes each year, and we spent most of October wondering what she would dress as for her 2017 Halloween bash.
Well, the wait is finally over. This year, Klum opted for a classic spooky look, channeling the howling werewolf from Michael Jackson's 1983 Thiller video. But, if you think the model just drew on some whiskers and strapped on a pair of fuzzy hands, you would be frightfully mistaken.
Throughout Halloween evening, Klum gave fans into the hours-long process that went into creating her costume. The model's Instagram snaps showcased a five-person Halloween glam squad (Team #HeidiHalloween, if you will), and also revealed a spooky set of fake teeth, a prosthetic chin, and an entire wrinkly torso.
All this took place, mind you, before Klum even hit the makeup chair. And when she did, the real magic took place.
All told, it took about six hours for Klum to transform into her howling character — but the payoff was worth it. Klum told People in September that her goal was to send a chill down her party guest's spines. "This year I’m going to be scary,” she said. “Not Scary Spice, but I’m going to be scary because last year I was just me, and I had five clones.”
The final look was scary, indeed. And, it also made us want to bust out our best MJ moves.
Way to get the party started, Heidi!
