Find Your Celebrity Eyebrow Muse
Are you a Reese, or a Cara?
Over the past few years, the eyebrow grooming category has grown like Frida Kahlo’s unibrow—and there's no end in sight. Blame it on the selfie generation, the hundreds of Youtube videos dedicated to eyebrow grooming, or even the Delevingne effect, but women seem to be spending more time and money trimming, threading, waxing or coloring in the pesky hair above their peepers.
We asked two A-List eyebrow gurus— Kelley Baker, who grooms the likes of Ariana Grande, Zendaya and 5th Harmony, and Ramy Gafni who counts Britney Spears, Nicole Richie and Liev Schreiber as clients—for their thoughts on the hottest brow trends, looks, and grooming tips for every face.
First, let's be real: you shouldn't completely copy the look of your favorite celeb. “It's best to enhance what you were born with," Baker says. Gafni adds: “Eyebrows are like fingerprints or snowflakes. No two are alike, even on the same face.” But to get an rough idea of the best brows for your face shape, Gafni offers some celebrity inspo:
For Oval Faces
Cara Delevingne can look good with nearly any type of brow—other than too thin, which looks good on no one.
For Square Faces
Like Brooke Shields, the original natural brow muse, those with square shaped faces look best with a straighter eyebrow. Gafni says a square face has lots of angles and doesn’t need to add more by creating an arch that’s too high.
For Heart-Shaped Faces
Think Keira Knightly or Reese Witherspoon, who look best with a straight brow with a medium to high arch.
For Diamond-Shaped or Long Faces
You’ll look best with a straight brow of medium thickness and medium arch which makes faces look less elongated. Jennifer Aniston and Liv Tyler both have great brows for this shape face.

Best Overall Celebrity Style:
Baker, who shapes Kourtney Kardashian’s brows, calls Kim’s sis: “A chic queen keeping her brows just the same!” And both of the celebrity brow gurus love Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale’s full and natural brows.
Best Classic Brow
Penelope Cruz is a Gafni fave for brows that are not too thick, not too thin, not too short, nor too long. He says hers are full brows shaped to complement their bone structure and that will hold up to the test of time.
Most Modern
Baker says the shape of the moment belongs to Zendaya, since “[her brows are] arched yet soft and beautiful. She's got the shape everyone swoons over.” Gafni points to Rooney Mara since he thinks her look is a modern day version of Audrey Hepburn, with brows that are very distinct and almost futuristic-looking.
Most Flattering
Charlize Theron and Taraji P. Henson both get high marks from Gafni. Both have brows that make their face, with Charlize’s brows being “simply perfectly shaped for her face and brow [hair] type. Taraji would be unrecognizable without her distinctly arched brows.”
Best Guybrows
Gafni, who trademarked the word guybrows back in ’14, says we are definitely seeing a trend of keeping men’s brows masculine, but more groomed than in the past. And guys' number one concern? They don’t want their brows to look “overdone or feminine,” even as they request a slightly more groomed look. Chace Crawford, Ian Somerlander and Zac Ephron do it right. Their brows are masculine but beautifully groomed and well-shaped.
