Evan Rachel Wood Is Making A Statement By Sticking To A Single Look
The West World star is wearing one look—and one designer—for awards season.
It's always refreshing when stars serve up fresh looks on the red carpet. At last night's Screen Actors Guild Awards, we were giddy to see Sofia Vergara deviate from her standard mermaid-style gown, and Kate Hudson's bit of Gothic edge had us doing a delighted double-take.
But, Evan Rachel Wood isn't keeping us guessing this season. Instead, the star is making a powerful statement by repeating a single look. In recent appearances on talk shows and red carpets alike, the West World actress has shown up in a pantsuit by Altuzarra.
At the Golden Globe Awards, the star—who just got engaged!—spilled the details on her decision to wear pants throughout awards season. “I’m not trying to protest dresses,” she told Ryan Seacrest during her red-carpet interview. “But, I wanted to make sure young girls and women know that it’s not a requirement. You don’t have to wear one if you don’t want to. Just be yourself.” Need proof that a pantsuit can be every bit as elegant as a gown? Take a peek at the photos below
For the SAG Awards, the actress wore a custom, midnight-blue velvet look by Altuzarra. She told E! News: "I myself felt pressure a lot of times to dress and look a certain way, so I felt...I'm just going to go another way and reach out to a girl possibly like me."
Inspired by David Bowie, she wore a custom Altuzarra tux to the Golden Globe Awards.
At the Critics Choice Awards, Evan Rachel wore a belted look from Altuzarra's pre-fall 2017 collection.
And at the BAFTA Awards, the actress changed things up in a silky, asymmetrical jumpsuit by Jonathan Simkhai. Fun fact: Evan Rachel works with the stylist Samantha McMillen, who's also been dressing Elle Fanning in menswear-inspired looks.
