We don't know about you, but a new Kate Chastain hair updo tutorial video is our idea of the perfect way to close out 2018. The Below Deck veteran yachtee is a pro at throwing her hair up in effortless chignons, and last year, she showed The Lookbook just how effortless her famous updos really are. Now, by popular request, Kate filmed even more tips for a fabulous messy updo. "For those of you that have asked me to do a hair tutorial video for the styles you see on #BelowDeck I give a quick one in this cameo video that John requested for his fiancée Lauren," she wrote on Instagram, posting the video that shows off her iconic hairstyle.
Kate's pared it down a bit from the millions of bobby pins she used in her previous updo tutorial. "Six bobby pins and that's it. Yay. I hope that wasn't anticlimactic for you," she joked. Her secret is still the same though: "I do like to get this front bit a little Gwen Stefani throwback pompadour with your fingers," she said in the video. The end result? The ultimate in "I woke up like this" glam. "It looks like you're not trying, because it's still a disaster. It's a controlled disaster. Which is also the name of my memoir," Kate joked. Hey, we'd definitely read that, too!
