Dave White Is Planning Something Very Exciting with Marcos Spaziani
The Below Deck Mediterranean and Below Deck Sailing Yacht chefs are teaming up for a venture on land.
While Below Deck chefs typically work alone in the galley during the charter season, two of them are now teaming up for an exciting new venture on land.
“I have recently been chatting to chef Marcos [Spaziani] quite a bit,” Below Deck Mediterranean’s Dave White told BravoTV.com on August 2. “His food is great, and his restaurant is pumping... We’re actually going to do a pop-up at his restaurant. We’re going to launch that soon.” Very soon, in fact. According to Dave, the pair are trying to get the “weekend pop-up” at the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 chef’s eatery “done before the end of August.”
As for what the limited-time collaboration will look like, Dave explained, “I’ll put a few dishes onto his menu, and I’ll work Friday, Saturday, and then we’ll do brunch Sunday. I want to take some of the money that I make and give it to charity.”
“It’s going to be brilliant,” he added. “I can’t wait to see his restaurant. It seems like it’s doing really well. Marcos, he just seems like a lovely guy. So it’ll be really nice just to share a kitchen with him. And then share a beer. It will be great.”
On the June 27 Season 3 reunion, Marcos shared an update on his thriving culinary career. “My life right now is crazy,” he said at the time. “I opened a restaurant in downtown L.A. I opened a bar, and I [will] open another restaurant in two months in Koreatown.”
Marcos also explained that he had “a contract with UCLA,” adding, “That’s what I’m doing right now, cooking for 1,600 people per day. So, yeah, I’m pretty booked all the time.”
