The new generation of the Vanderpump Rules group is here. So many of the folks in the crew have welcomed babies as of late, so it's not really a surprise that kids are on the minds of Katie Maloney-Schwartz and Tom Schwartz.

"So many friends in our lives have given birth or are about to give birth, and it’s a beautiful thing. We’re celebrating their newfound parenthood and anticipating ours sometime in the next few years," Tom said in an exclusive interview with Bravo Insider. Katie offered up a slightly different timeline in the interview: "Few years? Probably next couple years."

While Tom said they "thought about making a quarantine baby," Katie shared her thoughts on that concept: "Now that the world’s about to open up, I’m like, I don’t know if I want to, like, run and get pregnant right away. I think I might want to travel and experience a little bit of post-COVID life."

Tom added that right now, the couple is trying to find a routine again. He said, "We’d like to start a family some time in the next few years. First, we have to get our feet back on the ground, get a routine and a rhythm back and get our professional mojo flowing again."

Katie Maloney-Schwartz And Tom Schwartz Share Their Romantic Origin Story

The couple will mark five years of wedded bliss later this year (they married in August 2016 and, yes, did have to, um, remarry). And, we imagine, they probably never planned on having to navigate life as husband and wife amid a pandemic. These last 12 months were definitely a year that Katie and Tom learned a lot about their relationship while having to spend more time together and at home during the pandemic. "Basically, Tom does not like spending time at home," Katie said. "OK, I’m a homebody through and through. Tom, he gets a little cabin fever. He’s gotta get out and walk, he would just go for drives. He was missing things and people and such, and I was like perfectly fine not having to see anyone’s face. He was either here or at Tom Sandoval’s house... But did we learn anything, though? I don’t know. We’ve been together for almost 11 years. There’s not really many surprises left."

Tom noted, "That’s one thing we can work on: Surprise each other, be more romantic when we can. I will say for a lot of couples, this was probably the ultimate test for the relationship — or friendships, roommates. I’ve heard a lot of horror stories. But ours, not to boast here, but I feel like it was just full of love. It was really nice, you know?"

Tom also shed this bit of light about the last 12 months: "Let’s just say, it was not the sexiest year. It was romantic and fun and very special, you know? We bonded on a deep level, but it wasn’t super sexy [laughs]."

Still, Katie notes that they do have special ways they have always stayed connected as a couple. "We take trips. I feel like we’ve dated each other this entire time we’ve been together," she said. "We make the effort to spend time with each other, and we share s--t together, you know?"

"Every day we try to be mindful and be appreciative of each other and let each other grow in the relationship, don’t feel like you have the other person pegged," Tom added.
