Here's How Katie Maloney Feels About Raquel Leviss Buying the Lightning Bolt Necklace
The Vanderpump Rules cast member dished on the drama-worthy jewelry on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.
On Season 10 Episode 14 of Vanderpump Rules which aired on May 10, viewers were able to see Raquel Leviss purchase a buzzed-about accessory: the lightning-bolt necklace that generated many a fan theory about the SURver's affair with Tom Sandoval, who had a similar piece of jewelry.
"Ooh, can I see that little lightning bolt?" Raquel asks in a clip from the episode you can watch here. After Raquel questions the necklace's $780 price tag, her pal and fellow SURver, Charli Burnett, weighs in. "Yeah, it's gold! It's diamonds [...] just spend it." Raquel concludes that the gift to herself for her birthday is worth it, and, well, the rest it history.
Following the episode, Katie Maloney stopped in for an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen to dish on the drama, reacting to what we'll say is both a literal and metaphorical lightning-bolt moment in Bravo lore.
"$780 on that little ... thing?" Katie questioned in disbelief after host Andy Cohen prompted her to give her two cents. "Waste of money."
It's not only the drama-worthy accessory that's had people talking. On April 28, Andy shared a photo of his mother, Evelyn, sporting a Tom Tom hoodie that Raquel gave Andy the last time she appeared on WWHL on March 1. Andy captioned his post: “MomTom! (She asked to borrow a hoodie so how could I resist!?)[.]"
In the comments, a follower wrote, “I hope you washed that!” to which Andy quickly responded, “I did NOT! There’s [DNA] on it that’s significant to Bravo historians.”
The black hoodie, which has a sparkling lightning bolt and the logo for Sandoval and Tom Schwartz's West Hollywood restaurant with Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd, first caused some controversy last October when Raquel sported the look for BravoCon 2022. At the time, fans and Vanderpump Rules cast members only knew of Raquel's dalliance with Schwartz, not Sandoval, but she was still met with some heat on the subject.
“‘[She’s] a fan girl. Started as a fan of the show and now a fan of the [Toms]," Katie commented on Instagram about the outfit at the time.
On October 31, Raquel opened up in an Instagram post about why she chose to rock that specific piece for her October 16 ensemble. “Just came here to say that the number one reason I wore this TomTom sweatshirt on Day 3 of BravoCon was for the comfy vibes,” she wrote. “I also wore it to support BOTH of the [Toms] and encouraged people to stop by their booth to check out the rest of the cute merch. I really enjoy supporting my friends and being comfy at the same time.” Raquel also added the hashtags “sue me” and “number one Tom Stan.”
