Katie Maloney & Ariana Madix Brought Something About Her to Las Vegas in the Most Epic Way

Vanderpump Rules fans have been anxiously awaiting the opening of Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney's sandwich shop, and on November 3-November 5, BravoCon 2023 attendees got a taste of what's to come at an epic Lay's and Something About Her pop-up experience in Las Vegas.

Although the eatery was expected to open in the summer of 2023, Katie explained what's delaying the process during BravoCon 2023's "SUR’ving Up the Latest With Vanderpump Rules" panel, presented by Lay's. 

After noting the opening is "coming soon," Katie shared, "There's just like inspections, and, like, hoops we have to jump through. We have to get a water heater. The updates are really boring, I'll tell you that much. That's why we're not constantly updating everybody."

While it's taking longer than anticipated to open the doors, Katie declared, "Our menu is great. We're really excited about that."

BravoCon 2023 attendees were also excited, as they got to have an exclusive Something About Her experience, thanks to a pop-up designed by Lay's. The setup included Lay’s-infused food and cocktail recipes, Bravolebrity appearances, customizable Lay’s x Something About Her tote bags, amazing photo opportunities, and an exclusive Lay’s potato chip flavor inspired by the Something About Her menu.

Inspired by iconic duos like Ariana & Katie, the chocolate chip cookies are infused with Lay’s classic potato chips, white and chocolate chips, cocoa powder and gold sea salt.  

Inside the Lay’s Hour Bravopaloozas at BravoCon 2023

The Something About Her experience continued at BravoCon with Lay's Hour Bravopaloozas on November 3 and November 5. During the intimate sessions, in which fans were able to meet Bravolebs while enjoying bites and cocktails, Lay's created three specialty cocktails inspired by Katie, Ariana, and Something About Her that all had Lay’s as a garnish.

Lay's "I Take Sandwiches Very Seriously" PB & J Martini

Serves 1 – 6 oz 
Ingredients: 

• 1 oz Vanilla or berry flavored vodka
• 1 oz Hazelnut liqueur
• 1 oz Cassis or black raspberry flavored liqueur
• 1⁄2 oz Peanut butter flavored schnapps or whiskey
• 2 oz Concord grape juice 8-10 oz Ice
• 2 tbls LAY’S® Classic potato chips, crushed
• Edible gold dust or glitter, as needed
• 2 whole Grapes, red or black
• 1 tbls Grape jelly
• 1 tbls Grenadine syrup or simple syrup

Directions:

1. Combine crushed LAY’S® Classic potato chips with enough gold dust to coat and place in a wide shallow dish or plate. 
2. Combine grape jelly and syrup in a wide shallow dish, place in microwave for 15 seconds if needed to melt jelly. Reserve. 
3. In another container, dust grapes with gold as needed. In a shaker tin, combine ice and martini ingredients in order. Shake to chill.
4. Take chilled martini glass and dip rim into jelly syrup then into the gold dusted crushed LAY’S® Classic potato chips.
5. Strain martini into glass.
6. Garnish with gold dusted grape on a cocktail pick. Dip grape into martini and swirl for a glittery surprise.
7. Optional: add more edible gold dust for some sparkle!
8. Drink responsibly. 

Lay's "Spice Up the Drama" Margarita

Serves 1 – 6 oz 
Ingredients: 

• 1 oz Tequila, silver or gold
• .5 oz Triple sec
• .5oz Pineapple juice
• Sliced 1⁄2 whole Jalapeno
• 2 oz Premium margarita mix
• 8-10 oz ice
• 2 tbls LAY’S® Kettle Cooked Jalapeno potato chips, crushed
• As needed edible gold dust or glitter
• 2 tbls spicy chile salt
• 1 tbls honey or agave
• Optional lime slice 

Directions:

1. Add the pineapple juice and sliced jalapeno to a container. Allow to sit for at least 30 mins or overnight.
2. In a wide shallow dish, combine LAY’S® Kettle Cooked Jalapeno Chips, gold dust, and spicy chile salt until thoroughly mixed.
3. In another wide shallow dish, pour a small amount of honey or agave, set aside.
4. In a shaker tin, combine ice, spirits, jalapeno infused pineapple juice, and margarita mix. Shake to chill.
5. Take chilled margarita glass and dip rim into honey or agave, then into the gold dusted crushed LAY’S® Kettle Cooked Jalapeno chile salt.
6. Strain margarita into glass.
7. Garnish with slice of lime and slice of jalapeno.
8. Optional: add more edible gold dust for some sparkle!
9. Drink responsibly.

Lay's Something About Sangria

Ingredients: 

• 1 1⁄2 oz Spanish or apple brandy
• 3 oz white wine, dry
• 1 1⁄2 oz rum, aged
• 1⁄2 oz simple syrup
• 1 oz orange juice
• 1⁄2 oz lemon juice
• 1⁄2 oz pineapple juice (optional)
• Soda water or Bubly splash
• 1 cup orange, lemon, grapefruit and lime slices
• 1⁄4 cup peaches or white grapes, sliced or diced
• 1⁄4 cup pineapple, diced
• 2 Chips, LAY’S® Classic potato chips
• Edible gold dust for chips and mint as needed
• 2 whole Mint leaves,
• Fresh Citrus sugar, lemon drop flavored as needed
• Ice as needed
• Directions: 

1. Prepare the fruit as noted, add fruit to a large pitcher. Combine all sangria ingredients in the pitcher except the soda water, stir to thoroughly combine. 
2. Cover and allow to marinate for at least 1 hr or overnight. 
3. To serve: Rim the glasses using a piece of fruit rubbed around the rim, dipped in the citrus sugar.
4. Add ice and a spoonful of fruit, top with sangria and a splash of soda.
5. Garnish with a gold dusted chip and mint leaf clipped to the rim. Enjoy! 
6. Optional: add more edible gold dust for some sparkle! 
7. Drink responsibly.
