Though her passing at the age of 29 was devastating, Chef Fatima Ali ultimately left a legacy of joy. In her final months, the Bravo's Top Chef alum made a commitment to "indulge in the experiences of living," and for Fati, many of those pleasures centered on food.
So to honor her friend on what would have been her 30th birthday on August 8, Padma Lakshmi posted a throwback video that showed Fati in a place that really sang to her spirit: the kitchen.
In the video, the rising talent twirls around with unbridled joy, singing along to a Disney song. It's a sweet, priceless moment of pure happiness, and the video let Fati's many admirers celebrate her spirit on the special day.
In her caption, Padma wrote, "Happy Birthday Fati- wherever your spirit is I know you’ll be eating something yummy."
