You may never be able to drink another carbonated beverage without thinking of the RHOSLC cast member's interesting take.

If there is one thing we’ve already learned about Mary Cosby, it’s that she most definitely marches to the beat of her own drum. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member truly has created her own set of rules for life, whether that’s including the lavish Met Gala-themed luncheons she throws or the interesting motherhood tactic she utilizes regarding her son’s schooling. In fact, Mary even has a hard rule about carbonated beverages.

How to Watch

Watch the The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City on Bravo Wednesdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

On the December 9 episode of RHOSLC, Mary joined fellow cast member Heather Gay for dinner at a restaurant. When it came time to order drinks, Heather shared a recommendation with Mary, explaining, “I normally just get a Tito’s and water with lime.”

Mary seemed all set with Heather’s hot tip, but made a simple request to the waitress before confirming her order: “Still water, though, for me. I don’t do sparkling,” she explained.

Of course, Mary had a seemingly solid reason for wanting to stick with still that went far beyond simple preference. “That’s because carbonation hardens your ovaries,” she told Heather and the waitress taking their order.

In an interview during the episode, Heather revealed that she has a very different take on Mary’s still-to-be confirmed factoid.

“Carbonation affects your ovaries? That will be a double sparkling water for me, no more kids, thank you!” joked Heather, who is a proud mom to three daughters.

Mary’s drink selection wasn’t the only detail of her beverage consumption rules that she shared with Heather. When the women later went to make a toast (with what appeared to be glasses of wine that were thankfully not sparkling), Mary dropped another gem.

“You gotta look me in my eyes, to bless our lives for seven years,” she said to Heather, locking direct eye contact. “I learned it in Milano.”
