Here's Why Robyn Dixon's Embellished Hat Line Is So Good
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast explains what's so unique about the hats that Robyn makes.
The Real Housewives of Potomac are the gift that keeps on giving this holiday season. The ladies sat down for a drama-filled reunion to revisit all that Season 5 had to offer and, along with the fabulous fashion, we finally got a little insight into the fate of Robyn Dixon's new line of "Embellished" hats.
Avid viewers may remember the infamous photoshoot for Robyn's latest venture — a range of colorful baseball caps and tees called Embellished — on the October 18 episode. The crew gathered to support Robyn's business by posing in product shots, only to have her fellow RHOP cast member Karen Huger cut from the final images. It was...controversial to say the least.
But it seems that moment of potential shade didn't harm sales of the playful accessories since they sold out mere moments after their launch. And now, Robyn is explaining the secret to her sartorial success and what makes her product so special.
During the multi-part reunion, Candiace Dillard Bassett mused, "They are really good!"
"Why are they good?" asked Andy Cohen in the clip above only to learn that Robyn's hats are actually lined with supple satin for both style and comfort. "They're lined with satin. That is a big deal...why?" he continued.
"Because black girls and our edges, we have to be protected," Candiace clarified. The satin lining works to protect hair from irritation while wearing the baseball cap. Genius, right?!
"So, are you saying that most hats f--k your hair up?" Andy inquired. "Yes!" cried Candiace, "It dries your hair out."
Every detail counts when it comes to fashion and it sounds like Robyn has the numbers to back it up. "My sales have been tremendous," she offered. "The response...I've been overwhelmed with and I'm really excited about the future of my business."
Alas, you'll have to watch the clip above to hear exactly why Karen's photos were tossed. Be sure to tune in to Part 3 of the RHOP reunion on Sunday, December 27 at 9/8c.
