Shannon Beador Reveals "the Most Exciting" News Yet About Her QVC Food Line
The Real Housewives of Orange County entrepreneur announced the next big thing for Real to Real Cuisine on QVC.
It may seem counterintuitive, but Shannon Beador credits her recent weight loss to spending more time in the kitchen. Ahead of her October 1 appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, The Real Housewives of Orange County pal took a minute to chat recipe development with The Feast.
As a quick refresher, Shannon is the force behind QVC's food line Real For Real Cuisine. The line offers healthy frozen dishes that are all 450 calories or less — and the California mom places a big emphasis on seafood. Now, back to Shannon!
"I am on this weight loss journey," she told us in New York City. "So right now I’ve lost 27 pounds — as of this morning when I got on the scale — so I have 13 more to go. I think a lot of [the weight loss] is attributed to diet. I’ve been spending a lot of time in the kitchen coming up with recipes to bring down the calories and to bring in the ‘good for you’ ingredients, so that’s really helping me! Exercise, yeah, you've got to do it. But diet, I mean — I think that’s the real way to lose some weight."
We were intrigued with this weight loss plan to begin with, but our interest piqued when Shannon mentioned lobster. "QVC is going incredibly well. [On October 3] I am launching a skinny lobster cake which is only 140 calories with clean ingredients. It’s the most exciting item that I’ve introduced so far. I’m really happy about it," she shared with us.
In fact, the seafood aficionado was so psyched about the snacks, she brought a platter of them to her WWHL appearance. In the show's behind-the-scenes Instagram Stories, a staffer met Shannon in green room and found her holding a slew of the eats. "These are my new lobster cakes, 140 calories, that are debuting on QVC in two days. So, we're going to have the audience test them out — or we can go to the control room. Let me cut them up!" she said.
In short, it was a great night to work in the Bravo control room. Peep the photos from the impromptu lobster tasting:
