Heather Gives an Honest Look at Her Glam Process in "Instagram vs Reality" Post
The RHOC cast member thanked her glam squad "for making me look better than I should."
Heather Dubrow has dropped a quick but important reminder for fans: Social media doesn’t always reflect reality.
The Real Housewives of Orange County mom demonstrated this via Instagram on Thursday (May 25), shortly after she completed a photoshoot. Although Heather didn’t provide details about the gig, it was quite clear the shoot went heavy on the glamor vibes, as she shared an on-set photo that captured her in full hair and makeup while dressed to the nines. The look consisted of a silver Givenchy monogram dress that was accessorized with Givenchy earrings, Van Cleef & Arpels bracelets, and a Martin Katz ring. As per usual, the RHOC cast member looked absolutely stunning.
Heather Shares a Peek at the Glam Process
Heather followed up the beautiful shot with an honest behind-the-scenes look at her glam process. The selfie showed the mother-of-four sitting under a hooded dryer with foil in her hair and a makeup-free face. While Heather still looked amazing in the second photo, she used the contrast to underscore the power of good lighting and a solid glam team.
“Instagram vs Reality,” she captioned the post, which included crying laughing emojis. “This is a little bts of a photo shoot I had yesterday- nothing like GREAT lighting … and brown spray to cover my roots ! ( currently under the dryer to restore the brown !! ).”
Heather also gave a shoutout to makeup artist Nadia Moham and hairstylist Florido Basallo III for “making me look better than I should !!!”
The post received praise from several Bravolebrities, as well as Heather’s husband, Terry Dubrow: “My beautiful wife,” he commented.
Heather Feels More Confident Than Ever
In 2019, Heather went make-up free for an interview with Entertainment Weekly. The sit-down, which occurred on the heels of Heather’s 50th birthday, focused on her beauty tips, self-care regimen, and the ways she has become more confident.
“Age is just a number… I think if you’re in a good place in your life, you’re fine,” she said. “Now, having said that, I’ll go to an event and I’ll wear sort of a sexier outfit, and I’ll get comments you’re too old to wear that or cut your hair, that kind of thing… And yeah, do I look into the 100 zoom mirror and go [to my plastic surgeon husband] Terry, ‘I hate my neck I don’t like these tree trunk lines.’”
Though she still had insecurities, Heather insisted she never felt more comfortable in her skin.
“I feel more confident in a bikini than I’ve ever felt; I feel confident walking around without makeup, I just feel confident,” she added. “I think that’s a little bit what age does for you. By the way, [that’s] one reason I never put filters on my pictures, because I don’t want people to meet me in person and go, oh, that’s what’s going on there!”
