This Might Be Sonja Morgan's Best Party Story Yet
The #RHONY mom's fave bash had a yacht, caviar, pirates... and resulted in the conception of her daughter.
Sonja Morgan is famous for her tales about the epic parties she's attended over the years. Those bashes usually include A-listers hanging in super-cool spots all around the globe. So when we got the chance to chat with The Real Housewives of New York City party girl, we had to know about the best party she's ever been to in her life — and her answer just so happens to be incredibly glam.
"Well one of the greatest parties I've ever been to would have to be the 450 people I had on my yacht for December 31, 1999, for the millennium. That's when I conceived my daughter [Quincy]. She's a millennium baby," she told After Hours. "My [now ex] husband and I decided we'd better do it before dinner because after dinner New Year's Eve, it's not happening. That was one of the best nights, best parties I've ever been to."
The way she describes it certainly sounds like it was the party to end a century on. "We had, I guess, 15 pounds of caviar, so much Dom Perignon. Everyone dressed as pirates," she said. "And you know the pirate that was on the show, my date for the party that Luann took off with, that whole group from St. Barths, they were guests on the yacht."
She did hand out the party consolation prize to a certain fashion designer who also hosted a little gathering that same night. "And Valentino, he had a good party that night; his yacht was next door. He had a very nice party," she recalled. "And some other friends of mine had nice parties, but I'd say that was the best party."
By the way, Sonja, we could never forget the pirate.
