Dina Manzo Got Breast Explant Surgery and Her New Look Is "So Good, So Cute"
The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum revealed why she decided to remove her breast implants and shared her post-op results.
When Dina Manzo was 28 years old, she had her first breast augmentation. Now, The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum is telling the story of why she ultimately decided to undergo explant surgery and remove her "silicone fun bags" for good.
In a February 14 Instagram post, Dina shared a throwback photo of herself on vacation in Greece with her pre-explant breasts on display in a blue-patterned cutout one piece swimsuit. The former Housewife revealed that she got the initial implant procedure when she was "newly divorced" and "self conscious" about her "post-baby B cups."
"Not so fun fact my surgeon at the time (while I was under) decided to go to a DD instead of the full C I chose because he thought I would 'look sexier," Dina shockingly revealed, noting that the choice lead her to later get "[two] reductions" — but "they kept growing back."
Dina added that after her last surgery 15 years ago, the doctors discovered that one of her silicone implants had "ruptured," causing her to endure "almost 10 hours of anesthesia" to get a "brand new pair."
"I wish I knew then what I know now," she stated, pointing out how many women like herself "suffer from unexplained inflammation in their body" which can lead to "autoimmune symptoms" down the road. "After much time spent with specialists we have narrowed down the causes and one BIG one (actually 2) are these silicone fun bags."
She added: "So here I go [...] I'm scared but excited."
Dina's former RHONJ cast mate and good friend, Teresa Giudice, was sure to send her love in the comments section, writing, "You are going to do just fine sending well wishes."
In addition to her post, Dina took to her Instagram Stories on February 13 before the operation to give her followers a behind-the-scenes look at herself "goin' in" to surgery at Dr. David Rankin's office with "explant liaison" Dee Hicks.
Following the procedure, the California mom was cozied up to recover in a hotel room, divulging the details of her procedure.
"I feel great ... still a little hyped up on some stuff but everything went smoothly and [they say] the results are beautiful," she shared in the video. "Thank you for your prayers — so far so good!"
One day later, Dina again took to her Instagram Stories to give an update on her recovery.
"I feel so good, I have not even taken a pain killer," Dina began in the clip. "I just saw my boobs [and] they are so good, so cute. They hang so nice — I know this is TMI — but I'm just so shocked at how great they look already. They're only supposed to get better with time but I'm already thrilled!"
