Todd Tucker Is Expanding His Food Empire with Kandi Burruss, Inspired by This Shady RHOA Moment
The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Todd Tucker is literally turning a lemon of a situation into lemonade.
When your mother-in-law calls you "a lemon," you make lemonade! OK, so maybe that's not exactly how the old adage goes, but that's what Kandi Burruss' husband, Todd Tucker, is doing to make something sweet out of a seemingly sour comment made by Mama Joyce.
To refresh your memory, back in Season 10 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Mama Joyce said that "Kandi took a lemon and made lemonade" while speaking with Porsha Williams about her marriage to Todd. As you might imagine, Todd didn't exactly love being referred to as "a lemon," and this set all of the progress he and Mama Joyce had made on their relationship "back a million years," according to Kandi.
Thankfully, things seem to be back on track for the family after Mama Joyce apologized to Todd earlier this season of RHOA (but not before making some more confusing lemon metaphors in an attempt to clarify her comments. More on that from Kandi in The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 11 After Show, above). And now, Todd is channeling his pain into growing his bank account.
Kandi revealed during Part 1 of the RHOA Season 11 reunion Sunday night that Todd is working on launching his very own lemonade beverage, inspired by Mama Joyce's comments. "Any of our negative experiences, once we get past the hurt feelings, we make a business out of it," Kandi said. "So Todd is making his own lemonade right now."
Kandi did something similar after Porsha brought up a rumor that she had a sex dungeon in her basement back in Season 9 of RHOA. She turned it into a full-blown burlesque show that premiered in Atlanta earlier this season of RHOA, and now the revue is going on tour across the country beginning next month. "I feel like I express myself creatively," Kandi said of turning this hurtful gossip into dollars during Part 1 of the RHOA Season 11 reunion.
As for helping to inspire Kandi's latest business venture, Porsha joked during the reunion, "I think I deserve a kickback."
