See Porsha Williams & Simon Guobadia’s Towering 10-Tier Gold Wedding Cake
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum and her new husband needed a sword to cut the massive floral confection at their wedding.
From the fashion to the guest list, every detail of Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia’s wedding weekend was perfectly over-the-top. As The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum showed in a November 30 Instagram Story photo, that also included the couple’s extravagant cake for their second wedding celebration.
The towering gold dessert for their November 26 American reception was adorned with stunning white flowers and featured “Guobadia” on the middle tier. To create an even more romantic vibe, it was displayed above a candlelit area surrounded by roses. In an Instagram video, custom cakes and desserts studio Dèjá Vu Sweets shared another look at the jaw-dropping cake, writing in the caption, “A Magical Fairytale Wedding, needs a magical cake. Congratulations to Mr. Simon & Mrs. Porsha Guobadia! Just a snippet of the luxurious florals and gold 10-tiered cake. How did we do?”
While speaking with People ahead of their wedding weekend, Porsha revealed that she and Simon needed something substantial to cut the massive cake. “For the cake at the American ceremony, it’s so tall that I’m going to have to use a sword to cut it,” she said. “If extra was a bride, it’d be me. I promise you I did not know that I was this extra.”
One day prior, on November 25, the couple wed in a Nigerian traditional native law and custom ceremony. As People reported, that reception also included an incredible cake made of six tiers. “The cake for the Nigerian wedding, it will be a traditional Benin Kingdom cake,” Porsha told the publication before the wedding. “So it’s very, very different.”
