Kandi Burruss Has Some Surprisingly Old-Fashioned Expectations for Her Man
The Real Housewives of Atlanta dungeon-master is more of a Southern belle than you know.
When Kandi Burruss was accused of having a secret sex dungeon in her Atlanta home, she monetized the rumor and created a whole burlesque tour called Welcome to the Dungeon. But the truth is that The Real Housewives of Atlanta mom is really a Southern belle at heart, and with that comes what she calls some "old-fashioned" Southern expectations for any gentleman who wants to be in her life in that special way.
First, she expects that he will take out the trash, she said while appearing on Black Love with her gentleman — aka husband Todd Tucker — right by her side.
"That's for Ace to do," Todd joked about their son, who is 3 years old.
Todd has inspired Kandi to break from tradition from time to time — like when she was the first to say "I love you" in their relationship.
Kandi's guy should also make sure she's got enough gas in her car at all times. That's a classic Southern tradition, she explained, and it's something that's very important to her.
"Back when I was just dating [people], if I pulled up to the gas station and you didn't get out to put gas in the car, I wouldn't call you no more," she said.
"I remember when we were dating," Todd replied. "I was like why does she always need gas?!"
Kandi explained that they lived pretty far from each other when they were first dating, and it'd take a lot of gas to get back and forth.
"It's an old-school thing," she said. "Maybe it's a Southern Atlanta lady thing... if you know the gas is low, you should've taken it to get filled up."
"You're right," Todd agreed, his lesson long since learned. Keep that love tank full!
