Brielle Biermann Reveals Why Her Relationship Was Previously a "Secret"
The Don't Be Tardy daughter spilled the tea on her beau, Billy Seidl, just days after he popped the question.

Brielle Biermann made headlines on Monday (February 26) when she announced her engagement to Billy Seidl, a minor league baseball player she began dating more than a year ago. Although the couple went Instagram official in spring 2023, the proposal came as a shock to many Bravo fans, as Brielle rarely spoke about her beau and the status of their relationship.
The Don’t Be Tardy daughter addressed the topic in a recent Q&A session on Instagram, explaining why she kept the romance under wraps.

Brielle Biermann explains why she kept her romantic life private
“All of my relationships have been really public,” she said before referencing the split between her mom, Kim Zolciak, and her adoptive father, Kroy Biermann. “And given, you know, everything that’s going on right now, I just decided that I wanted to be a little more private with things that are really important to me. I get criticized on every single thing I do, 24/7, and I didn’t want any criticism on this. I didn’t want anybody to affect what we had going on.”
She continued: “Billy is such a sweet person that I didn’t want people sending him nasty DMs like they have been now. It was just really important to me to enjoy Billy and I’s company, alone, get to know each other, without involving the world. And I’m so happy we did.”

Brielle also detailed Billy’s romantic proposal, insisting she had no idea it was coming. The ATL-raised TV personality said Billy had popped the question on February 23, just a day before her big birthday celebration.
“I was not expecting the proposal at all,” she said in another Story. “I seriously did not think that he was going to propose. We’re together 24/7. I was like, ‘There’s no way this guy’s gonna be able to get a ring without me knowing. How’s he gonna ask Kroy?’… Yes, he asked Kroy. He actually asked Kroy a while ago.”
Brielle said Billy proposed on what she believed to be a regular date night at their favorite restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona. But before they sat down to eat, Billy suggested they take a walk “before sunset.”
“I didn’t think anything of it. I was, like, ‘OK, great. What should I wear?’” she recalled. “We were talking about me wearing jeans, and then he put on a nice outfit. I was like, ‘Wait, I’m not gonna wear jeans if you’re gonna wear that. I’m gonna put on a dress.' The first thing I said to him — after I said ‘yes,’ obviously — I was like, ‘You were going to let me wear jeans?!’ I can’t believe this man.’ I really was surprised.”
Billy confirmed he picked out the ring himself and completed the whole process via email and text messages. The athlete said he knew exactly what style Brielle wanted, as they started looking at engagement rings in 2023.

Brielle also revealed that she and Billy met by chance during a Bahamas trip over a year ago.
“We were both leaving the next day, so we spent the whole day together,” she said, “and then he was in Naples and I went to Naples a couple of weeks later and we’ve been together ever since. So, yeah, it’s a good story, honestly. I kind of want to share it, but it’s so long. “
Brielle said she hasn’t given much thought about her wedding because she’s trying to enjoy “engagement life.” She also revealed she doesn’t plan to stay in Atlanta, but doesn’t know where she and Billy will ultimately end up.
“I would like to get away while I’m still young and can before I have kids,” she said. “Who knows? We might end up raising the chickens on the beach, but TBD."

Brielle was later asked to share her “favorite thing” about her fiancé, but said it was “so hard to narrow [it] down.”
“The first thing that comes to mind is how incredibly thoughtful he is,” she said. “When we first hung out, one of the first times we hung out, he knew I loved the moon and the stars and whatever, and it was a beautiful night, and he took me outside with a blanket to watch the stars. And this was while we’re literally at a party with a bunch of people… It’s just little things like that. He’s just so sweet and so thoughtful and literally the kindest person I’ve ever met. There’s nobody sweeter than him, I swear.”
