The Resnicks Go Goth-am!
According to the Resnicks, Det. Gordon is in deep sh-- right now. Get thoughts on 'Gotham' and more in their TV rundown!
Bravotv.com: What was your favorite TV moment from this week’s People’s Couch episode?
Nicole Resnick: One of my favorite Tv moments from this week was on the show Masterchef Juniors. It was amazing to see Gordon Ramsey not being a complete ass! We saw a better side of him. It really warms my heart to see how talented those kids are and how knowledgable they are about cooking. They can come cook for me anytime!!
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite current shows and what should everyone be watching?
NR: Currently my favorite shows to watch are Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, and really anything that has drama! Everyone should be following along with Shonda-land, aka "Thank God it's Thursday", when both of these shows are on! She really knows how to keep you on the edge of the couch wanting more!!
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite shows and characters of all time and why?
NR: Favorite shows of all time would have to include Sons of Anarchy because what's not to like about hot and grungy biker dudes. Lately, all these political dramas that have come out have really caught my eye. Other shows I love are Orange Is the New Black, House of Cards, and for more of a comedic show, I love Modern Family. Gloria played by Sofia vegara is hilarious and keeps things interesting!
Bravotv.com: What TV show was the biggest influence on your life? How?
NR: Shows that have had the biggest influence on my life are The Biggest Loser, and any makeover show. My profession is being a hairstylist and one thing I really have loved is transforming people and making them fall in love with themselves again; making them beautiful on the outside so they can feel beautiful on the inside. Those shows are very inspiring and I love to watch all of these people push themselves to be better!
Bravotv.com: What do you think of the new series Gotham and comic book trend? Do you like the villains or the heroes and why?
NR: Ummm, I am obsessed with the new series Gotham! It's such an amazing look at a different perspective of Batman, and how he became Batman. I love all the heros over the villains! Yes, from time to time villains can be thrilling and stir the pot, but in the end the hero always wins!
Bravotv.com: What was your favorite TV moment from this week’s People's Couch episode?
Rachel Resnick Friend: While I enjoyed all of the shows we watched, the one moment that stuck out to me the most had to be the show Transparent. To be honest, I am not quite sure how I feel about the show, but I do know that it got my attention. While the main story is about a father becoming transgendered, I really enjoyed all of the side stories with each sibling! I can't believe Jan from the Office is in the show as the most non-chalant, super cool Lesbian Mom! I think Melora Hardin is beautiful! I am interested to see how the stories unfold the rest of the season.
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite current shows and what should everyone be watching?
RRF: I am obsessed with quite a few shows. Sons of Anarchy on the violent end of the spectrum and Parenthood on the loving end. If you haven't watched Parenthood yet, YOU NEED TO! Any and every person who has a family can relate. I love the show and cry every other episode. And no, I don't cry because I am a baby, I cry because it's so real! I clearly have bad luck since both of these shows are in their final season! I love singing competitions, too. The Voice and American Idol are shows that I love to sing a long to! My entire wedding soundtrack was past Voice contestant's cover songs! My guilty pleasures are Scandal and Vanderpump Rules! DRAMA!
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite shows and characters of all time and why?
RRF: I was a die hard Saved By The Bell fan and I loved the entire cast, especially Kelly Kapowski! One of my favorite episodes from the show was when Kelly, Jessie and Lisa all made an aerobic video to the song, "I'm So Excited!" My sisters and I sing that song any time we are reminded of that moment. I know this is corny to admit, but when I was pregnant I binged watched quite a few shows and two of those were Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill. While they were big back in the day, I was binge watching them at 30! Watching the show took up so much of my day, it started to become too much of my life! I honestly felt like Serena and Blair were my best friends. . .my poor husband. XOXO I'm crazy.
Bravotv.com: What TV show was the biggest influence on your life? How?
RRF: Like I mentioned before, I was obsessed with Saved By The Bell growing up. That show got me through a lot of my adolescence! I loved Mr. Belding and The Mac. The biggest influence SBTB had on my life was Zach Morris's phrase, "Time out." It's probably one my most used sayings. Now if time could stop when I said that, we'd be golden!
Bravotv.com: What do you think of the new series Gotham and comic book trend? Do you like the villains or the heroes and why?
RRF: I love all of the Batman movies and I wasn't sure what to expect when I heard about Gotham. Let me just say that I am seriously enjoying the show and haven't yet missed an episode. I love seeing how the villains come to be. The Penguin is pretty scary. He is just so off that it's creepy and he will cut you if you cross him! The actor does an amazing job as this character! I love Detective Gordon because not only is he great for the part, but I used to watch him as Ryan in The O.C. which was one of my favorite shows back then. From The O.C. to Gotham, it looks like things are looking up for Benjamin McKenzie, in real life that is. Spoiler Alert: He is in deep sh-- on Gotham right now.
Bravotv.com: What was your favorite TV moment from this week’s People’s Couch episode?
Sarah Resnick: My favorite moment from this weeks episode was for sure Master Chef kids edition. I was immensely touched by the kindness and sincerity the children showed to their competitors. They displayed such innocence and helped their competitors with forgotten ingredients, or consoled the ones who didn't make it to the next round; gave me CHILLS! If this was an adult version they would be smirking at the fact their competitor forgot an ingredient.
I was blown away by the talent at such a young age! The way they plated the food was so professional! My future children will for sure be taking cooking classes when they are 10!
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite current shows and what should everyone be watching?
SR: I love the series Nashville! Sometimes I think I'm a country girl at heart and something about singing country music and the love stories all tangled throughout the season is my guilty pleasure! Rayna James and Deacon I love!!
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite shows and characters of all time and why?
SR: I love Scandal now and am addicted to the role that Olivia Pope plays as "Helen of Troy." I also love Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen from Bravo! He cracks me up! Also I'm embarrassed to say, but Vanderpump Rules is soo good! It's like a car accident you can't look away -- Lisa and her servers brew up some good drama!
Bravotv.com: What TV show was the biggest influence on your life? How?
SR: The Rachel Zoe Project has had a huge influence over my life. I grew up loving fashion and I have always dreamed about being apart of its world. Watching Rachel Zoe create an empire surrounded by fashion inspired me to really move into a career in the fashion world. I look up to her and how hard she has worked to make a name in the fashion world. I was so influenced by her style and her drive! She has an insane work ethic and I admire her!
Bravotv.com: What do you think of the new series Gotham and comic book trend? Do you like the villains or the heroes and why?
I love the concept as I am a Batman movie fan! I think that it has brought life to something that was so successful in comics and in film and turned it to something families or individuals can experience in their home on a weekly basis. TV series are blowing my mind lately with how amazing they are -- and it takes entertainment to a whole new level. I used to be an avid mover goer but all these new series like Last Ship, and now Gotham give me thrill!
I am on team hero for sure!
Bravotv.com: What was your favorite TV moment from this week’s People’s Couch episode?
Joe Resnick: I really enjoyed Transparent. Jeffery Tambour as a transsexual is brilliant. It's a modern day family drama/comedy for today. Kudos to Amazon for approaching the real world in a modern take on the dysfunctional family. I like this show!
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite current shows and what should everyone be watching?
JR: I enjoy The Big Bang Theory. I'm a nerd at heart. I also really enjoy Masterchef: Junior. I hope we all will be watching the new Syfy Ascension, it looks great.
Bravotv.com: What are your favorite shows and characters of all time and why?
JR: I must be showing my age, Columbo and the original Star Trek. Peter Falk was amazing playing Lt. Columbo. And no one could chew the scenery better than Mr. Shatner. Oh, and Gregory House, too. I kinda wish he was real.
Bravotv.com: What TV show was the biggest influence on your life? How?
JR: And again I would say Star Trek. The idea that mankind would survive and thrive was pretty amazing when I was growing up in the '60s.
Bravotv.com: What do you think of the new series Gotham and comic book trend? Do you like the villains or the heroes and why?
JR: So far so good. I have always been a fan of a strong story and good characters. As long as Gotham delivers I will be a fan. Hero or villain doesn't matter as much as believability. Both are intriguing. We are all fans of the struggle between good and evil. My fingers are crossed.
