Hey, Remember When Yolanda Hadid and Rebecca Romijn Were in a "Twitter War"?

The current generation of models has wracked up as much criticism as they have accolades since they burst onto the fashion scene. You see, some people think models like Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid rose to fame thanks to their famous parents and/or social media following rather than their talent.

Rebecca Romijn seemed to be one of those people when she commented on the current crop of models during an interview with ET back in 2016, saying that she was "disappointed that fashion magazines have been supporting this trend of social media stars to set our style standards." Even though Romijn later tweeted that she "never talked smack" about Jenner and Gigi Hadid and praised them as "amazing" and "beautiful," when Yolanda Hadid, mom to not one, not two, but three models (Gigi, Bella, and Anwar Hadid), caught wind of Romijn's comments, she didn't hesitate to defend her children on Twitter.

Cut to a few months later that year, and Romijn still seemed to be pretty shady toward Yolanda while clarifying her comments about the new generation of supermodels on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. She even said "it felt pretty good" to get in her "first Twitter war" ever with Yolanda.

But now nearly three years later, Romijn seems to have majorly changed her tune about the whole situation. When Andy Cohen asked if she had spoken to Yolanda and what she thought about the new generation of models now, Romijn said on WWHL Tuesday night, "I have not spoken to Yolanda since then, but I have nothing but admiration and respect for Yolanda and her very, very hardworking daughters. This new generation of models, they're working their butts off. They're working their butts off as hard as any models have ever worked. How they got there is different from how other models of the past have got there. I have nothing but respect and admiration for them. And for Yolanda."

Noticing Romijn's very diplomatic answer, Andy remarked, "Well done. Rebecca Romijn for Senate."

Things are definitely still good between Yolanda and Erika Girardi, who surprised Romijn and her husband Jerry O'Connell on WWHL. Erika said she last spoke to Yolanda around Christmastime. "She's struggling a little bit," she shared. "I also saw her over the summer. I love Yolanda."

Yolanda revealed at the beginning of this year that she had "struggled through a relapse" of Lyme disease in 2018. However, she still had a positive outlook on life as she began the new year and seemed positively beautiful and liberated when she commemorated her 55th birthday earlier this month with a sultry lingerie selfie.
