Here's Why Dr. Damon Kimes Wasn't at the Married to Medicine Season 8 Reunion
Dr. Heavenly Kimes explained why her husband wasn't among the spouses who attended the sit-down with Andy Cohen.
The Married to Medicine husbands have long joined their wives at the reunion every season. However, one spouse was noticeably absent from this season's sit-down with Andy Cohen.
The host welcomed the Married to Medicine ladies to the Season 8 reunion at the top of Part 1, which aired on June 27. However, after greeting Dr. Heavenly Kimes, Andy noted that he heard the dentist was "thinking about not coming tonight."
Dr. Heavenly shared that she had experienced a family emergency right before she left for the reunion. "My son is sick. He was admitted to the hospital day before yesterday, but I left my husband [Dr. Damon Kimes] there," she said, without specifying which of her sons, Damon Jr. or Zachary, was experiencing health issues at the time. "We were at a smaller hospital, and they weren't doing what they should've been doing. And he was able to keep his composure and tell them exactly what to do. And within an hour, my son was fine."
Andy told Dr. Heavenly that he was "glad" her son was "on the mend." He also confirmed that Dr. Damon wouldn't be appearing at the reunion. "I'm sorry we won't be seeing Dr. Damon later," he said.
Still, the Married to Medicine husbands were definitely well represented at the reunion, including Dr. Jackie Walters' husband, Curtis Berry, Dr. Simone Whitmore's husband, Cecil Whitmore, Toya Bush-Harris' husband, Dr. Eugene Harris, Dr. Contessa Metcalfe's husband, Dr. Scott Metcalfe, and Anila Sajja's husband, Dr. Kiran Sajja.
Though the men will come to the set for a conversation with Andy later on in the reunion, they had been watching the ladies' discussion with the host from backstage. In particular, Dr. Scott seemed to not like what he was hearing when Quad Webb revealed that Dr. Contessa had "filed for separation," calling it "a sneak attack."
And it looks like the husbands will join their wives on the set a little sooner than expected. "The guys are crashing the stage," Andy can be heard saying in a preview for Part 2 of the reunion, which also teased some tough questions for Dr. Scott. There also appears to be some drama on the way for Quad and Dr. Eugene.
Part 2 of the Married to Medicine Season 8 reunion airs Sunday, July 11 at a special time of 10:15/9:15c, followed by Part 3 on Sunday, July 18 at a special time of 10:15/9:15c.
