Here's Why Carl and Lindsay Were Missing from the First Weekend on Summer House Season 8
Carl Radke admitted that it was "bittersweet" for him and Lindsay Hubbard to not spend the first weekend of Season 8 in the Hamptons.
When the Summer House crew headed out to the Hamptons to officially kick off Season 8 with a blowout celebration for July 4, two cast members were noticeably absent from the festivities: Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard.
The two, who were engaged when Season 8 was filmed, did not spend the first weekend in the Hamptons. Instead, they took a weekend trip to spend time at another very famous house.
In a first look for the Summer House Season 8 premiere, which you can check out at the top of this post, Kyle Cooke shares the reason why Lindsay and Carl are spending the weekend elsewhere.

Why Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard Missed the First Weekend of Summer House Season 8
After picking up new addition West Wilson in New York City so they can drive out to the Hamptons together, Kyle confirms that Lindsay and Carl will be missing for the entire first weekend. "Well, Mom and Dad are in D.C. this weekend, so," Kyle explains to the sports journalist, which you can watch above.
"So they're not coming?" West asks.
"Not this weekend," Kyle replies. Later on in the preview clip, Lindsay and Carl are in their apartment packing and getting ready for their weekend away. Lindsay shares that the two are headed to Washington D.C. to attend an event at the White House.
"I'm kind of excited we're going to the White House on the 4th of July," she tells Carl. "I mean, who gets invited to the White House? We do."
Why Were Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke Invited to the White House?
Lindsay went on to discuss the reason why she secured a spot for her and Carl at the White House in an interview on the Summer House Season 8 premiere.
"My best friend Dannia is a powerhouse publicist in D.C., and she got us an invite to the White House," Lindsay says. "So, I'm excited for this little break from wedding planning, a break from New York, and from the house."
Though Lindsay and Carl were both honored and excited to be going to the White House, the latter cast member noted that it was also a "little bittersweet" for him.
"I mean, it's definitely a little bittersweet," Carl says. "How many summers have we been doing the 4th of July in the Hamptons?"
"Like, more than I can count," Lindsay replies.
After they visited D.C., Carl shared a few snapshots from the nation's capital on his Instagram feed. In one photo, the now-exes can be seen smiling and posing together on the lawn. In another, Lindsay wears a red, white, and blue workout set while standing next to Carl as they snap a shot in front of the Lincoln Memorial.
