Did Lindsay Hubbard Just Reveal There Were Early Signs Her Wedding Was Going to Get Called Off?
Plus, find out why Carl Radke was venting about Lindsay Hubbard to Kyle Cooke.
Summer House fans know that Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke's engagement came to an end in September 2023, but they're now getting to see what exactly led to their breakup on Season 8.
During their first weekend together in the house, Carl and Lindsay got into a disagreement in their rideshare home, and though they made amends shortly thereafter, the two dealt with more issues on Season 8, Episode 4 (which aired on March 14).
When the twosome was out to dinner with the rest of the housemates, Lindsay made a comment about giving her engagement ring back to the former Loverboy VP of Sales. In another moment, Carl vented to best friend Kyle Cooke about how Lindsay shot down his next potential career move.

Summer House Season 8, Episode 4 Recap: Carl and Lindsay Split Clues [Ring Return]
When the housemates (sans Paige DeSorbo, who was in Albany for the weekend) went out for a bite to eat, Lindsay decided to make a toast. She thanked new guys West Wilson and Jesse Solomon for "bringing in boy energy" to the house, and Carl responded by saying, "Yeah, dude," and barking.
Lindsay wasn't a fan of Carl's response, and she joked, "I don't want to hear Carl's bark, because I might give the ring back."
Though Lindsay made the comment in jest, it made a few of the other guests at the table uncomfortable.
"What?!" Kyle reacted, while Carl made a face. You can check out the tense moment for yourself by watching the video at the top of this post.
Carl Radke Vents to Kyle Cooke About His Relationship Issues with Lindsay Hubbard
Hours before Lindsay made her toast, Carl opened up about the couple's issues to his best pal, Kyle. He recapped the what went down the prior weekend.
"I mean, couples fight. I'm actually in a weird way kind of glad we fought, just to kind of, like, get it off our chests," Carl said. "Because we have our moments, man, sometimes it's not alcohol-related."
Carl went on to tell Kyle about the conversation he had with Lindsay about his career goals at a sober bar in New York City.
"I ended up going this past week with Lindsay [to] a new bar. It's a dry, sober bar, which is something that got me thinking about an opportunity business-wise," Carl explained. "Because I think you could do something different and better. You know, I brought it up to Lindsay, and she was like, 'No.''
Kyle asked Carl how he felt when Lindsay shot his idea down so quickly.
"It maybe felt like she was taking the wind out of my sail[s] a tiny bit," Carl said. "You know, I've talked about doing things in the sobriety world and [in] the mental health space. She's had concerns about that [saying,] 'You know, you're pigeon-holing yourself."
Kyle noted that, even if Lindsay felt like Carl's ideas weren't fully formed, she still should have had a "conversation" with her then-fiancé about his ideas.
"At the end of the day, I, at some point in the next year, need to kind of really make a decision on what I'm doing career-wise," Carl admitted. "I don't necessarily disagree, but at the same time, I don't think she's listening to what's important to me."
Lindsay Hubbard Talks to Amanda Batula About Her Relationship Woes
After getting into a disagreement following the group dinner, Carl and Lindsay returned to the house. While Carl went to bed, Lindsay chatted in the kitchen with Amanda Batula about what happened.
"Everyone wants to pin everything on me..." Lindsay said. "As we're in the car on the way home, he's picking, picking, picking at me. I'm like, 'What the f-ck? Why are you this aggressive with me?'"
"You guys are hitting a wall right now," Amanda said.
"Listen, Carl is the most amazing human being ever, but he has a lot of demons, and those demons come out on me," Lindsay added.
