Wendy Williams Reacts to Her Name Being Brought Up at the RHOA Season 12 Reunion
The talk show host's friendship with Nene Leakes was a hot topic at the RHOA sit-down.
Wendy Williams always has a lot to say about The Real Housewives on her talk show, but it was the Atlanta Housewives that had a lot to say about her during The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 12 reunion.
When the topic of Nene Leakes' rekindled friendship with Wendy came up during Part 1 of the reunion, which aired on May 10, some of the ladies questioned how genuine the relationship really is, especially in light of some negative comments Wendy made on her talk show after Nene attempted to FaceTime her during an Instagram Live in April.
Nene refuted all of the ladies' claims about their friendship, and now Wendy has shared her reaction to all the reunion chatter during her appearance on the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: @ Home After Show on September 27 (clip above). "I've never been to Atlanta to see Nene. Nene likes to stay out of the house, so Nene flies to New York, and if she's here and I have time, I see Nene. If I don't have time, I let her know, 'Nene, I'm busy,'" Wendy described her friendship with Nene. "So I don't listen to that."
She added, citing Nene's given name, "I know who Linnethia is, and it's something deep from the heart."
We've seen the ups and downs in Nene and Wendy's friendship play out in the public eye over the years, culminating in the squashing of their famous beef in August 2019. But after confirming that she and Wendy are "in a neutral place" these days during the RHOA Season 12 reunion, Nene said that she is going to keep the details of their friendship more private from now on.
"First of all, when Wendy and I got back together, the one thing I said to her was, 'Anything that happens to us, I'm going to come to you. I'm not going on social media,'" Nene shared. "So with that said, I'm not going to discuss our friendship amongst these girls."
Nene announced earlier this month that she will not be returning to RHOA for Season 13. "Thank you so much for your love and support. I want to thank BravoTV. Thank you, Bravo, for all the memories, the laughs, the tears. Thank you to my production company, Truly Original. Thank you guys so very much. Thank you. You guys are like family to me. I love you, and I thank you," Nene shared in a video on her YouTube channel posted on September 17. "Thank you to the cast for all of the memories. Thank you so much to my team who have stood with me during this time and supported me, pushed me. Thank you guys so much."
She ended the video by thanking fans for all of their love and support. "It has just been amazing. Thank you guys so much," Nene said. "You guys mean so much to me, and I will see you again real soon. Love you guys! I'm gonna miss you. I love you!"
