Anisha Gives Her Mystery Man an Engagement Deadline in the Family Karma Midseason Trailer
Plus, Nicholas jokes he’s a “runaway bride” ahead of his wedding to Amrit, and Rish contemplates proposing to Monica.
If you thought all the drama on Family Karma Season 3 was about Monica Vaswani and Rish Karam’s relationship woes and the fallout from Vishal Parvani’s wedding night behavior, then you were sorely mistaken.
A midseason trailer for the remaining episodes dropped on December 30, and things are only just heating up for the Miami crew. From a wedding celebration, to a few apartment moves, to a potential proposal, to an engagement ultimatum, you won’t want to miss a single moment from the rest of the third season.
Keep scrolling to find out more about five of the biggest takeaways from the midseason trailer.
1. Amrit and Nicholas prepare to get married
Now that Vishal and Richa Sadana have celebrated their wedding weekend, it’s time for Amrit Kapai and Nicholas Kouchoukos to do the same.
In the trailer, the couple are getting ready to celebrate their one-of-a-kind blended Indian and American wedding ceremony and reception — but their union certainly doesn’t go off without a hitch.
Nicholas learns that his traditional, religious parents have declined walking him down the aisle, and that’s not the only obstacle he faces.
While riding horses during their wedding, Nicholas’ steed goes astray, leading him to “feel like this is Runaway Bride.”
During their ceremony, the pair also deal with an interruption from an unexpected guest, but you’ll have to check out the trailer to find out who it is.
2. Rish teases that he’ll propose to Monica
After weathering a cheating rumor, deciding not to move in together, and disagreeing about what the next step in their relationship will be, Rish asks his girlfriend if she’ll go on a “special date” with him.
The couple takes a gondola ride together, but will this be the moment when Rish proves how serious he is?
“So, I got one more thing,” he tells Monica on their date. The moment concludes before viewers can find out if he pops the question.
3. Brian moves out to live on his own
As Brian Benni has mentioned multiple times already during Season 3, living in his parents’ home at the age of 30 greatly affects his dating life. He finally puts his money where his mouth is in the second half of the season by getting his own apartment.
“He’s moving out, and I know he’s matured,” his mom, Dharma Benni, says in an interview.
“What have you seen that would tell you that?” Brian’s dad, Raj Benni, asks his wife.
Raj may be on to something, as the camera pans to the empty beer bottles and trash littering Brian’s new apartment. He later calls his mom to ask how to use a particular kitchen appliance.
4. Anisha hosts a fashion show and gives her mystery boyfriend an ultimatum
Anisha Ramakrishna holds an event for her latest Currently collection. As the fashion designer continues to balance her life in Miami and her new life with her mystery boyfriend (now husband) in Arizona, Anisha tells her mom that she’s ready to get engaged sooner rather than later.
“I want a ring by Cinco de Mayo,” she tells her mom. In an interview, she justifies her strict window for a proposal.
“Everyone’s like, ‘Guys don’t like deadlines,’” she says. “Well, I don’t like wasting time.”
5. Vishal and Richa find their own place
Following their Cancún wedding weekend — which ended with Vishal in bed with Amrit and Nicholas, and not his new bride — Richa expected her husband to make some big changes.
While Richa still isn’t ready to legally marry Vishal, she does decide to move into a new apartment with him.
“I’ve really seen a change in Vishal,” Amrit says in a confessional about his best friend. “The way you communicate, your mannerisms — you’ve gone from, like, 18 to 36 overnight.”
Though Vishal has made an effort to show Richa he’s serious about their marriage, he’s not a completely different person. In one moment in the teaser, Vishal welcomes his bride home by lying on their countertop in nothing but an apron and underwear.
In addition to these five major moments, the trailer also features a divide amongst the aunties, Bali Chainani’s botched Holi speech, and Raj Vaswani’s warning to Rish. Check out more from the midseason trailer by clicking the video above.
