Vicki Gunvalson Says She's Updating Her Smile After a Dental Mishap: "I Lost a Tooth"
The RHOC alum explained how she lost a veneer during a Las Vegas getaway with her boyfriend.
Vicki Gunvalson gave an important reminder to fans: Not everything that happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas.
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum headed to Sin City this month for a much-needed getaway with her longtime boyfriend, Michael Smith. Vicki spoke about the trip in the latest episode of My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast, where she broke down some of the biggest highlights.
The couple enjoyed several meals with their closest friends, attended a couple of concerts, and even met country music legend George Strait; however, the vacation wasn’t completely smooth as Vicki experienced a dental mishap while having lunch with her pals.
Vicki Gunvalson explains how she "lost a tooth" in Las Vegas
We went to The Palm at Caesars [Palace]… So I’m like, ‘I’m gonna have a salad because we’re going to Capos in four hours and we’re gonna have an Italian dinner!’” she told her co-host Christian Gray Snow. “So bit into a piece of bread — put my butter on it because I love butter — and I lost a tooth. Oh yeah. So I’m like, crunch.”
Vicki said she was initially unsure what caused the “crunch” sound as the bread was pretty plain.
“No currants in there, no pecans,” she continued after revealing the large gap between her teeth. “I’m with a bunch of people at the table… I go, ‘Oh my god. Here’s my tooth. I have veneers. Michael’s like, ‘What is going on with you?’ I said ‘I lost my tooth… What am I supposed to do with it?’”
Vicki has been carrying her dental veneer in a restaurant takeout bag
Vicki’s friend told her to hang tight, left the table, and returned with a takeout bag.
“Everybody that’s with me always knows that something’s going to happen and it’s always usually with me,” Vicki joked as she pulled out said bag. “[My friend] brings me this large baggie from the restaurant. In the baggie is my tooth.”
Vicki said she immediately began texting her dentist and requested a tooth installation for the following day.
“Crickets. I haven’t heard back from him,” she said about her doctor. “But now I have this baggie with my tooth ready to go to be implanted again. They just have to glue it.”
Vicki plans to get a fresh set of veneers
Thankfully for Vicki, she was scheduled to get a smile upgrade at the top of 2025.
“I’m getting all my veneers replaced next month because they’re 20 years old,” she said. “[My doctor] was afraid they were gonna start falling out. I’m like, ‘wonderful.’”
“Right on time,” Christian said with a laugh.
