Would Lala Kent and James Kennedy Date Now That They're Both Single?
Here's how Vanderpump Rules' Lala Kent reacted to James Kennedy responding "never say never" to this burning question on WWHL.
With Lala Kent and James Kennedy now both single, there is one question on everybody's minds: Would the Vanderpump Rules cast members date each other?
Thankfully, Lala and James appeared virtually on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen together on January 11, and we got the answer to this burning question when host Andy Cohen read a fan query asking if they would take their friendship to a romantic place once again (clip below). "Oh my gosh. I mean, I don't think James Kennedy is ready to be, like, a stepdad," Lala said, referring to her 10-month-old daughter, Ocean. "So much has changed since we got together."
Lala ultimately concluded that James is "one of my best friends" before asking the DJ for his thoughts on the matter. "Honestly, we've both done so much growing up and stuff. I mean, yeah, I'd love to just continue this beautiful friendship that we do have," James said. "Look, I never say never to anything nowadays. I mean, honestly, after everything I've been through, I never say never to anything."
As for what Lala thought of James' response, she said, "That's a good answer. That's a great answer."
We've seen many twists and turns in James and Lala's relationship over the years on Vanderpump Rules. Starting out as just friends, James and Lala have hooked up in the past. They've also mixed business with pleasure, collaborating on musical tracks. Though their drama involving their respective previous partners has threatened to tear them apart, they have always found a way to rebuild their friendship through it all.
The pals have especially been there for each other in the current Season 9 of Vanderpump Rules as Lala experiences her first few months of motherhood and James continues his journey of sobriety, something Lala is also going through.
In fact, James showed Lala some love on Instagram at the end of December to congratulate his friend on her "epic" Give Them Lala Beauty event featured in this season of Vanderpump Rules, adding, "I’m glad I got to DJ."
