Viewers have really seen it all during Parts 1 and 2 of the Vanderpump Rules reunion — from one-on-one chats with Ariana Madix, Tom Sandoval, and Raquel Leviss, to James Kennedy’s multiple storm-offs, to a fourth-wall-breaking moment courtesy of Sandoval himself.
The aforementioned wall-shattering moment happened right after the TomTom part owner met with Raquel in her trailer during Part 2. Read on for details.
Why Tom Sandoval Broke the Fourth Wall
After talking with Raquel about the affair and how “rough” it was for him to be on the reunion set, Sandoval went outside and chatted with a producer named Patrick.
“All right, I’m done filming,” Sandoval said. “I’m not — yeah, I’m done.” He then asked if he could get a few minutes away from the cameras so he could talk to Raquel in private.
“Hey, can we have, like, a for real break where we’re not, like, being filmed?” Sandoval inquired.
When the producer asked if the Tom Sandoval & the Most Extras singer wanted to grab lunch, Sandoval doubled down and asked if he could talk to Raquel without the cameras.
“Cameras are up if anyone’s together, like, the whole time,” the producer explained, later adding that James Kennedy, Lala Kent, Katie Maloney, Ariana Madix, and Scheana Shay were on camera while eating lunch together. “You can have time if you need time to yourself, but if y’all are together — ”
Sandoval interjected, saying he “just need[ed] a breath” away from filming. “Get the f-ck out of here, I’m not kidding,” he added.
When the cameras didn’t go down, Sandoval continued to insist.
“I need a break from filming!” Sandoval shouted. “Stop filming me! I want to talk to her, I don’t want a camera in my f-cking goddamn face!”
He then explained why he felt like he needed a break. “Dude, I just — I don’t feel relaxed. She doesn’t either,” he continued. “We have to watch what we f-cking say, like, I don’t want that. I’m in a very delicate position right now. This needs to take a beat.”
What Happened After Tom Sandoval’s Confrontation
Despite Sandoval’s request, the cameras stayed up and filming on the reunion set picked back up shortly thereafter.
The cast first heard from James’ girlfriend, Ally Lewber, and then it was time for Scheana Shay to exit the stage and for Raquel to join the rest of the cast.
Before Scheana left, she offered a Good as Gold album to Andy in honor of a comment he’d made during the Season 2 reunion several years ago. Sandoval got up during the gift exchange and went outside for a few minutes alone.
“Dude, I gotta get out of here,” Sandoval said before heading to the parking lot for a cigarette.
