'Top Chef' Winner Kristen Kish Scores New Show
The season 10 victor will co-host a new show inspired by a 'New York Times' column.
Thirty-six hours may seem like a long time, but not so much when you're dropped into a new locale and expected to learn and then emulate the culture and cuisine.
This is the task that Top Chef winner Kristen Kish will face when she teams up with Kyle Martino, a former U.S. National Team soccer professional, for new show 36 Hours on the Travel Channel.
Kristen, aside from being thrilled for the opportunity, truly credits the cooking competition for helping her get to where she is. "I am beyond ecstatic," she tells the Daily Dish exclusively. "Two years ago when my mentor and former boss suggested that I try out for Top Chef, I never could have imagined where I'd be today. It goes to show you the power of an amazing show combined with hard work and dedication can really lead to incredible things."
The series is inspired by and based off of a popular New York Times column of the same name. In a statement, the Times says itineraries for the show will be created by its editors and contributors and the show will coincide with related articles.
For Kristen, the ability to travel and learn from new destinations is extremely inspiring. "I'm so humbled to have the opportunity to further my passion for food, culture, and learning," she explains. "My future restaurant will be so much more interesting after this chapter!"
